No new news. In a holding pattern as there are some big races going on this weekend. Car is still at Kilo's but ready to go over to Gato's for the v mount and exhaust fab work. I think I am about 3-4 weeks out still from having the car done.

^ No problems, happy to share with you. Let's make sure it works as planned first though Should be completed this week.

As to the event, it will most likely be postponed until early next year. Not many guys have signed up and we need 15 before the end of the week. If we need to change the date, will fit it around DGRR, so probably in March or May.

^Hmmm that would be a nice double event. DGRR one weekend and the Fd testing event the following Monday or Tuesday. You would probably get a pretty big turnout.

I like it and posted the idea up in the VIR event thread. We'll see what kind of traction we can get on the idea. I see only positives here.

On the battery question, I use an Odyssey yellow top relocated to the back bin. I've tried them all and the Odyssey seems to last the longest between charges. I only drive the car (when I have it) every couple of weeks and most of the other batteries I tried would lose charge in that time.

The V-mount setup is the perfect solution for the 3 rotor and heat problems..

the new owner of my old car went to a v-mount from a front mount with the koyo N flow and he doesnt see temps over 86-88* under load.

post pics when gato is done with the v-mount Mr Hayes

^ That is good to know. Was worried about the size of the Koyo N flow and its cooling capabilities for the 3 rotor. Does the new owner ever track the car?

How's life treating you?

Do it and maybe some of us west coasters would come out there!
David have you tried a Braille battery? I've had two Odyssey pc680s and now a similiar sized Braille and it is holding up better (so far).

Can't believe I didn't post up any interior shots with the black carpeting. I'm at a track event this weekend but will look for some pics when I get back home. The new carpeting looks great and matches the black interior plastics nicely so I'd recommend it to you without hesitation.

Would love to see some of you West Coast guys. Phil is trying to do a track day around DGRR so check out the DGRR section on the forum. I'll make it out to Sevenstock someday soon.

I've not used the Braille battery. I don't daily drive the car so how do you think it would hold up to going several weeks without driving?

I've gone 2-3 weeks and it still started right up. But you should get a trickle charger, if you don't already have one, reguardless what battery you go with if its going to be sitting fairly long periods. Now post Vmount pics

^Thanks for the Braille info. I have to store my car remotely in a locked garage that has no power so although I own a trickle charger (two actually) there is no way for me to trickle charge it. The Optima Yellow Top seems to be the best at holding a charge so that is it for me as of now.

I've been so busy the last few weeks I don't know what's going on with the car. I need to call Kilo soon and will post up where we're at when I speak with him. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with fabbing up the v-mount setup and know it will be topnotch. Seeing is believing though right?

Given my schedule between now and the end of the year, it is very likely I won't have time to pick up the car until early next year so Kilo will have plenty of time to work his magic. I've also got a lead on a new bullet turbo setup for the car and if that comes through it could set me back even further but it would be worth it. I have no events planned for the next few months so a further delay is no big deal. Just want to get it right and be happy.

Regarding interior pics of the car and the black carpet, I can't find any which is very surprising as I remember taking them. I'll do my best to post some up when the car is back together. As I said before though, I would highly recommend the carpet I used as it is a very good match for the car. No complaints there.

are you able to setup a solar trickle charger?
Just thinking out loud, i've never used one.

I've been through a number of Odyssey battery's.
They don't seem to respond to my battery tender. I read somewhere that they require a specific trickle charger.

I decided to try a X2 sealed motorcycle battery from "batteries plus" here in jacksonville. I've had better luck so far. They have a 2 year warranty, cheaper, works with battery tender, easy to replace at local store, etc.

Here's some info.
About Xtreme Motorcycle batteries - Different type of motorcycle batteries and features

I can check which one i have if anyone is interested.
It has no issue cranking up my LS motor so i'm sure it'll work great for rotary.

^ Thanks for the info. Which one did you use? The biggest one I see has 320 CCA and that would surprise me if it works on an FD, particularly an LSX. Not saying it doesn't work for you, just trying to figure out which on you have.

The Optima has 750 CCA and I bought it at Advance so, with its 3 year warranty, I can just take it back to them if it dies and they will replace it as well.

And where I have the car, a solar trickle charger would be out as well.

David,
Regarding the charging issue, I was faced with the same thing a few years ago when I had to store my car. Do they have an incandescent light in the garage? If so, grab an adapter from Home Depot that will allow you to plug a trickle charger into the light socket.

I have the X2-30LA. It has 400 CCA and I've had zero issues with it starting my LS1.

Kinda off topic, but I got the new turbo setup and cooling system road worthy about a week ago.
Everything is working pretty well so far. I drove the car to Daytona for Rod Run over the weekend.
