I have already spent 60thousand dollars and still the car is not finished.....Really need help with the strong diff as I want to hit the 1000BHP (because you only live ones) and without a good diff or a gear box I know I can do that....anyone who knows the person who can do the Cobra diff for me... I would appreciate his/her help

Hmmn, not that I would read the whole thread, but check it out and you will see this is the end of a 5 year conversion so I know all too well about the cost and not that I am proud of it, but you can double your number to came up with what I have spent on this build. My tune is a bit more conservative than yours at 650 WHP and I am very happy staying at this level. Haven't blown through the diff yet or the tranny but I do know these are the next things I will most likely need to address. I also don't drive with a "lead foot" so my components tend to last longer. The tranny is a fresh rebuild but when it goes, I'll need to find something else like this:

Trust me my tow truck driver knows me quite well

Ive overheated twice last year, and both times i stop the car where it is at and call it in.
Not smart in Miami, but the Sig Sauer is resting in the glove box.
Yep, never had a problem with tow trucks that a few boards couldn't solve which makes me unhappy with the body shop's decision. Heck the last time I brought the car to them, it was on a flatbed.

As a big aside, the Autotrain has a minimum clearance requirement of 4 inches. Do you think we'll have an issue?

So good news. The engine is fine. Dodged a bullet on this one so I am happy. Job one now is to rewire the fan correctly so the Microtech activates it but that is peanuts compared to a rebuild. Cheers!

that's great news.

---Just a thought, so this could be a horrible idea---is there an ECU or another way to have the engine turn off or severe derate at a certain water or oil temp? I know that most of us watch the temp gauges and know to pull over if things get out of hand. I was trying to think of either - other people driving the car or racing when your watching...but watching 10 things at once and might not notice a rapid rise in temps.

At a minimum I need to set the warning feature on the PLX water temp so it will 'alarm" when a certain temp is reached. Just haven't had the car long enough recently to do this.

i think we will be fine. I have read that the autotrain has transported Ferraris and Bentley without a problem. 4" is the height of a parking curb, just dont drive too fast.....My freinds with VWs that were slammed transported without any problem for the H20 fest in Ocean City MD last year.

Oh another thing, they have to drive the car onto the train, not you.. Just hope its not the same guy from the body shop.

That is too funny about the body shop guys. Now that I know the car will be fine, I'll pm you with some details of the trip to Gordon's so we can coordinate the drive. Should be pretty fun as I have never taken the Autotrain before.

Thanks guys for the comments. No problems Ernie, just make sure to leave your keys again I think you will be more impressed now as I had them take out some of the richness under throttle and it drives much better now and has more power. I could feel the the loss of power at DGRR. Jesus is so conservative it's still under 11.0 AFR but at least it's not 9.9 like it was.

Fortunately the car is now at Kilo so they know what they are doing. In reality, the body shop guys wanted to please me and they thought they were doing something good. Not good though.

Please leave the ECU debates out of the thread. You're only allowed to praise his car. :-)

On a serious note, dont spout such nonsense like that in the future, please.

Hopefully the official end will come soon. Can't believe how long this has gone on. Plan on doing a "last observations" kind of writeup soon, you know, the do's and don'ts of something like this.

Okay. I started with Wolf, then went to Haltech, and now Microtech which is working very well for me so why go to Motech? It's a great system but always go with what your tuner uses and it is Microtech.

That would be realllllyyyyy cool of you do to so. We could learn a lot from your experiences and whatnot. Say, were you ever caught up in the Chris Green saga? There are stories on the forum of members having to get their parts & cars from the shop via property owner.

Yes I was and got my car out of there before everything went down. That was a few years ago and many many posts ago. Chris claimed Wolf was going to use my car as their US "demo" car and convinced me to send the car to CA for a single turbo upgrade and Wolf tuning. Had other forum members stake out his shop and luckily a transporter was in the area when he showed up at his shop.

Chris is a great guy who fell on tough times and I hope he is personally doing well although he totally screwed me and many other RX7 owners. At least my car wasn't impounded like others were.
