IV-Rotor Build: 12 plugs/ 9 bearings/ 8 ports = 1 monster
I know, its been sitting in a dusty corner until I have some time to finish it for driving. The larger injectors (2200cc) and larger twin fuel pumps are here which will support the actual power output. Next is making heat shields, putting on street rubber, additional oil cooler plumbing and actual driving videos can be made!
Any reason you chose not to do another of your semi-PP intake setups on the 4 rotor as you had on the 3? Was very intrigued by that piece of work, thought that bit of engineering might have made a re-appearance here.

P-port is the way to go to keep the 4 rotor block shorter and lighter. Also you can use pretty much all 13B parts besides the e-shaft. Once you've played around with a 20B, you'll understand..
Not a ton to report, its been so busy at the shop that even 1 day a week isnt possible to do 4-rotor work. But enginelabs.com magazine found and loved our video so did a review of it. Very nice article, I enjoyed it

although we are waiting in anticipation for some street tuning vids. Although this build is far superior i still want to know if you can hit 500hp with the 3 rotor?!
So I did sneak out for 3 hours and put the 4-rotor on the dyno just for some drivability tuning. Cell phone sound capture, forgot the go-pro
Slide throttles and mega overlap made a street tune a bit difficult. Nothing crazy guys just some little runs!! I will disclose that it made 230 ft-lbs at 2500 rpms.... yeah. No power tuning, no miles. And this engine wont even get out of bed until 6k

Wow Logan, awesome. Can't wait til you get some miles on her and tuned for POWER. For now, thanks for sharing! So curious as to why you picked 82 for your car number. Possibly the year you were born?
P.S. Those TB inlet screens seem to "flex" quite a bit when you're on full throttle. Just make sure those babies are VERY secure. Hate to see you ingest one. Oh, and will the TBs eventually move in and out (variable length) similar to the 787B setup??

gordon, i am guessing that's because of the different firing order logan is using (which he mentioned in a previous post in this thread) and he does seem to be keeping the revs fairly low.
it does sound strangely similar to an angry high revving 4cylinder engine though...

Keep in mind audio frequency pickup, especially from an Iphone doesnt really capture sound well at all. While I cant speak in comparative terms to that of other 4 rotors, Ive heard a bit of this in person and it sounds awesome

Just panty hose, you can tell it was a off-the-cuff run haha. Logan, why is the "pitch" of the engine sound seemingly lower than some or all of the Japanese NA 4 rotors I've heard? Also, 230 foot pounds at 2500 rpm? Suggests a lot of power even before tuning. More than I was expecting. This is going to make more power than any 4 rotor NA made so far. 3 rotor turbo power without the stress.

Thanks Lenny. After your visit I made sure to remove that "wuss" exhaust and put on a larger system.
The bigger pipe might be doing it, but, whatever it is, it changed my mind on the main objection I've had to a 4 rotor. Still don't know if I'd want the power, but it is NA, so more controllable, anyway. The thing is that its hard to see this motor ever making less than 550 who, which is way more than I need. And what about idle? Smooth or?

The idle of this engine is heard in the video at the end. Its very 787 sounding, and not smooth. We can build a much less aggressive port combination to make for much smoother engine operation and idle. It would decrease power substantially of course but could still make somewhere around 500 rwhp.
Having a REALLY hard time believing that video is only 4500 rpm. The short shifts up to high gear, yes, maybe, but that last pull had to be at least 6 to 7K rpm.
i think in one video it went to 5500. But the rev limiter is at 5500 so its definitely not 7k. Sounds way higher!
