Subjectively, I've felt the difference in the four rollbar-equipped FDs I've spent time with on road and track vs standard 'non-racecar' versions

that's what's surprising. judging from the rest of the car, bling is incongruent with your aesthetic.

I call it strategic bling, like all the gold heat tape I have in the engine bay. You bring up a good point though, the thought of tinting my windows again crossed my mind to bring down the visibility of the bars from the outside. But then again, I purposely removed the tint from the car to achieve that fish bowl look in the first place.

Since this thread is bumped up, I don't have much to report. Installed a Mazdaspeed titanium ebrake handle, after wanting one for years. Thanks to the little birdies that gave me the tip on where to buy this item.

Other than that, I haven't driven the car or touched it much at ALL

Quick update. More details here: Grand Mighty

My new custom ordered Black/Black Suede Nardi:

330mm felt too undersized for me and manual steering, had to go up to 350mm

Went from the Rothsport quick release to the Works Bell GTC:

Came with the car! Those scuff plates are probably the only damn things I ended up keeping and not changing out myself with this car.

My daily is a 2017 Chevrolet Volt

I've invested a great deal of effort and time in the paint job on this car. Not just from repainting it, but from redoing the front bumpers countless times with multiple sets of '99 bumpers, etc. The car is completely ding free and has immaculate paint right now... and that's a major handicap.

When you put your max effort into making something as clean as possible, it's difficult to freely use it. I think it's a psychological thing. I'll eventually get over it once I get that first rock chip, or something. That, and I store the car multiple cities away from where I live, so I only have access to it maybe once a week.

Sounds like you need to invest in a clear bra! My boss just got done doing a 100% clear bra wrap on this Tesla P85D and drives it daily with not a single chip going on 2 years. Nothing you can do about dings!

I'm not sure why I haven't given the clear bra option a closer look. My coworker had his entire GT3 wrapped in clear bra but that was like $4000... I think I've swayed away from clear bras all these years because I like the full gloss of the paint to shine through.

Now there's all these weird coatings that you can spray on that cures to the paint...

No sir, but there are screws on the side that you could probably tighten if it does.

I went with silver to match all the silver accents I have going on inside, but both are nice

Update!! Over the past years and with my first FD, I bought 2 sets of OEM '99 sideskirts AND THEN SOLD THEM! I always chickened out because the install and prep is pretty intense on these things.

But I bought yet another set and finally went through with it and DAMN I wish I did it 3 years ago! Subtle change in the exterior but makes a big impact. Car looks wider and lower. Love it.

Repainted by my go to body guy, Williams Auto Body.

Installed

Will expand more on this in a post on my website.

Other than that, I have actually started driving the car more and more. Great feeling.

I've also been working on a new website/forum, but I'm probably not allowed to post that here

We're going to need to arrange some sort of get together. And, I'll weigh in on this subject.
If you want to make your car feel super fast, you can ride in my bone stock 94 base for comparison

What are your plans for your low mileage white FD? Bastardize it like I did with my R2? Haha

Good question. I wired the turn signals directly into the AiM dash and programmed the upper left and right LED lights to flash green, just like normal turn signal lights. You can see that there's a column of LED lights on either side of the screen, these are all programmable for various alerts, functions, and colors.

Rest of the photoset have been uploaded. Linking the album to save my website's bandwidth, check them out here: Photoshoot with Wavy Bert - the showroom - CornerBalanced.com

Not quite yet, lol. But seeing your car makes me a little jealous as its way cleaner than mine. I need to buy a roller so i can do some crazy stuff like wide body and 20b. Though i'll be sticking with rotary like a chump XD
