Have you had any issues with the fronts rubbing on the fender liners? Just mounted the same sizing/offset and getting some decent rubbing.. Granted I'm running PSS's but don't see how .05" less in the radius would help that much. (25.3" vs 25.2" OD)

 

What is your ride height and camber? I have zero gap all around and do not rub.

For sure your fenders will need to be rolled FLAT, not just partially... and there's no way to run this kind of fitment with the fender liners in place. I actually cut and sectioned my fender liners to clear the outer areas and they clear.

 

Ah ok, the trimming the liners explains it. I'm not rubbing on the fenders themselves, just the liners. But I got persuasive with a heat gun last night and it seems a little better. Thanks for clarifying.

I will unveil the whereabouts for the main trim panels in a later post, for now, let's focus on the door cards... which I sent to the Alcantara Wizards at ESH Upholstering ! The same good folks who made me my Spirit-R Recaros' Alcantara seat covers: Black Alcantara Spirit-R Recaros | Grand Mighty

ESH completed the reupholstering after only a couple of weeks, right on time! Although I could have had the door cards redone by a local shop and saved the hassle of shipping across the country, I entrusted them with ESH due to their previous experience with this specific job. They already had the pattern nailed down and also, more importantly, the prepping process. Here’s a look at what it takes. These pictures were sent to me by ESH and are a little low in size, but more media should follow in the near future.

First, it is crucial to chemically clean the panels in order to remove the years of built up oil-based protectant applications. The solvent used is like an adhesive remover and dries out the vinyl. Below is a comparison of the cleaned panel next to a new, black vinyl that exactly matches the factory material.



As if that wasn’t harsh enough, the next step was to physically sand the panels with 40 grit. Not an easy thing to stomach given the good condition of my door cards, but a necessary evil. ESH repeated the sanding and treating of the panels about 5 times each. After each session, the panels were placed under the sun to identify completion. Any area that might create bonding issues with the glue will present itself as a more normal black finish. The prep work is done when the panels remains a thoroughly faded white under the sun.



In order to wrap in Alcantara, all of the trim and pieces needed to be stripped off. ESH did a great job putting everything back into place, including the weather stripping along the window. Albeit the Alcantara is wrapped on top, all of the trim should still reinstall like factory.

I know I JUST went through all of the work to get these beautiful, forged, Advan GTs in Machining & Racing Metal Black... but I must now move them to acquire my grails.

As the weeks pass, I find myself digging deeper and deeper with this car. More parts are coming off for revisions and improvements.

One of the projects that I am particularly excited about is the Carbon Fiber overlaying work with oCarbon.

I sent all of my major trim pieces to oCarbon a few weeks ago and things are currently underway...









I chose to do everything in a 1x1 Plain Weave pattern. I will post more when I receive more updates!

Info on the Grails. We have been kept waiting too long!

 

The Advan GTs are indeed gone... a necessary deed... and certainly broke a personal record of being the most short-lived wheel set that I've owned, and ironically one of the best set of wheels I've owned, too.

As for the Grails, that information is not ready for public consumption yet! I'm sure I've left clues over the years as to what they are, though.

In the interim, here are a few more pictures that I received from oCarbon. Looks like the pieces had resin added and they've been subjected to one round of oven baking, with many more to come.











And because ESH Upholstering offers service that is simply TOO convenient, I had to move forward and get the large, rear quarter interior panels redone in Alcantara too

ok eventually i'm gonna have to be that guy and ask how much $ this EHS upholstery costs for all the panels you're doing. I must know.

They are wheels that I've wanted for the past decade. I had quite a few chances to grab them in the past but they never came to fruition.

I did, however, have to settle with an aggressive fitment but I've come to embrace it. I've had my run with the meatier, square setups.

Anyway, coming across these wheels was special enough for me to unload the GTs in their favor. But sacrifices must be made for the ULTIMATE wheels. I remark these as the absolute pinnacle of mankind's creation of wheels, molded by a long line of innovation since the advent of the wheel itself in the late Neolithic age.

I was thinking you need 4x Mustang GT350R 19x11.5 +28 Carbon Fiber rear wheels (hell, they are over $600 cheaper than the fronts and better offset!) and 265/30-19 AD008Rs to keep it fresh and current.
