The adventures of Danny Mac and Pirate Hooker

Ah yes, thanks for reminding me. Basically Phil did a little testing for me since he had a 16 ECU just like me and a running engine. There are four plugs that connect to the ECU, 2 on the engine harness and 2 from the interior harness. Since I have a 16 bit ECU and 16 bit engine harness that part of the equation is solved.
The issue I was worried about was adapting the interior harness to the ECU. I bought the Knight sports ECU adapter, which lets you plug the 8 bit type connectors into one side and it converts them to 16 bit type connectors on the other. But the Knight sports connector only had three 16 bit type connectors, two to adapt the engine harness and one for the interior. I didn't realize that the missing connector from the adapter harness was for the diagnostics port and is not necessary to make the car run and the gauges function. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be test firing the engine.

BTW, UPDATE!
As you know I have a complete series 8 engine. The series 8 split air flange is rotated roughly 90 degrees compared to a 93-95 LIM which prohibits installing the split-air pipe without modification. I'll have to cut and re-weld the pipe at a different angle, right now it's impossible to install.

Little update time.
The exhaust and downpipe have been heat wrapped and installed as well as the SMB metallic cat/muffler mid-pipe. The down-pipe was "ceramic" coated but I wasn't really confident it would keep that much heat out of the engine bay so I opted to heat wrap it as well.
If you don't have a second set of hands to help wrap your exhaust pipes, I'd recommend using a hose clamp to hold the initial wrap in place; so you can concentrate on making nice tight, consistent wraps. Luckily I had GoodfellaFD3S handy who did most of the work. If you can't get a hold of a goodfellafd3s then Hulk hands will suffice. Hulk hands should be a part of any real mechanics tool assortment anyway.... WARNING: Use Hulk Hands with EXTREME caution!
I used the DEI titanium header wrap, which does not require wetting or gloves really. The titanium wrap is a looser fabric compared to standard header wrap, so use caution when handling it. When securing heat wrap there are a few different methods that may be used, the most common I see is stainless steel zip ties and worm drive clamps. I personally prefer to use stainless steel wire as seen below. Usually you would use the tool in this link to tie the wire, but I don't have one yet and just used needle nose pliers.
Stainless steel wire used to secure wrap
Opted for a hose clamp on the bottom

Actually now that I think about it, Mr. GoodfellaFD3S did most of the work on pirate hooker this time around. Here's a few things we accomplished this weekend.
-Charlie's #1 CYM got driven for the first time in almost two years nothing instills driving confidence like crusty *** tires.
-Installed a reman water pump since I wasn't too confident in the old pump.
-Installed a reman starter since the used one I bought was missing the threads on the power cable post, which I didn't notice until about a year after I purchased it.
- Routed the wiring harness into the car. The JDM engine harness bows out and almost touches the rear turbo inlet pipe, which isn't a big deal just wanted to make note of it for anyone installing a Japanese harness into a USDM car.
Now I need to find some sort of shifter assembly and **** since the transmission didn't come with anything. I'm not sure if I want to go with B&M or stock for the shifter. My other FD has the B&M and I like it, but the stock shifter has a nice feel to it also.
It's time to play.... WHOS KEYS ARE THESE!?
Note: Pirate Hookers keys aren't in this group, but JhnRx7's are
Thanks again to GoodfellaFD3S (Rich) and JhnRX7 (John) for giving me a hand at the shop and hanging out. John actually got a little work done on his car

Anyhow, on mine I cut the pipe about 1" back from the flange and used a piece of hose and 2 hose clamps there. Worked like a champ and you never see them usually so it wasn't an issue. Used OEM spring clamps as well so if you DID see it it looked stock.
Lookin' good my man! Congrats on the Modified article! Your ricer street cred went WAY up, that issue on the windshield will score points with the judges. That and the 40' of neon tubing in the interior.

Dale, it's not actually the split air pipe but it's the pipe that goes from the rear of the LIM to the cat. I just had the pipe re-welded, but I like your idea better. Just throwing a rubber hose on would have saved me a bunch of time.
Oh man I can't wait to get extra point at show for modified feature on windshield! That will definitely push my car over the top and make it a show stoppah! You didn't see the neon lights under my silver car at night time? Dude, that was like my favorite mod!
Thanks for the props dude
