wow, what an update!

Yeah ebay scams. I bought a FD3S specific HKS Twin Power harness and a random homemade universal harness showed up. Got my money back and they said keep the harness... lol

Yeah PFC is the way to go if you want to drive it right away. It still works great for single too.

When you switch to single you can sell off alot of things but I would keep the PFC and save the haltech money for a future engine rebuild.

You will also be able to easily convert your Greddy VM kit to single turbo use.

awesome build so far.

Thanks bro! If I end up going with the PFC instead of the Haltec, should I go with the custom harness from him (he said he can make it easily since he specializes in making harnesses and electrical work and regularly makes them) or buy an OEM one from Ray Crowe? I'm going to need a new harness either way since my current one is old.

It’s hard to recommend but if you have someone who will be doing your work for you probably better to do what they recommend. I know they make a custom ignition harness and wires for the map sensor and they upgrade a lot of the factory harness which is cool. I know the PFC is old but there is just so much support for it. I do not have enough professional experience to make recommendations For engine management. I just choose what I will have more support for.

a new harness is sweet but if your going to chop it up I’m sure there are really good used ones here.
if your going single in the future then the custom harness will be better.

Someone hold me back and tell me I can wait . . .

Are these the move over the fspec ohlins? Would likely buy new pillow ball bearings and super pro bushings if I do this lol

It has been exactly 3 months since I ordered the V-Mount Greddy kit from IRP. Never received an email or contact stating it's been delayed, but messaged them a month ago and they explained that it hasn't hit customs yet so they have no idea when it will arrive which is fair. Followed up again on Friday and no response yet, hopefully later today. Not sure what's going on and if this is typical from Greddy-Trust.

Frustrated it's taking so long, does anyone else have any advice? This is the last part I'm waiting on before I can finally take the car in to the shop to get worked on .

Man, EVERYTHING is getting delayed. It's just something you're going to have to live with in the current world. I ordered Honeywell actuators back in July and still don't have a ship date...don't even get me started on Modine coils.

I mean, I bet if you offered a lot of money, someone with a v-mount kit would be willing to sell you...

Yeah it's not IRP's fault. Since I also had to run a small business, the stupidist littlest thing can hold something up.

I ordered their IGN1A kit in Nov 2020 and I got it 5 months later. They had a ton of IGN1A orders, doing harness parts upgrades in batches, slowdown due to pandemic shipping so they were not getting their supplies.
My harness has an issue, maybe I pulled something loose during the install maybe I didn't, but they are sending me a new harness. I know they do things in batches which is completely understandable but with sevenstock around the corner I bought the harness from DriftinJim here on the forum and got it within 4 days !!!!! and the wires he used are also a much thicker gauge.

But yes - if time is the issue, always call and verify it is in stock - we all learned it the hard way.

Good Luck Bro.

Thanks bro, I went ahead and left a voicemail and def understand how busy everyone is right now. I had called when I placed my order and was told they'd place the order on June 25th, the day I ordered it, for the next pallet that was coming but has been three months so far. Communication is huge and really was underwhelmed by that so far, but all that ends well is well and just hope it arrives soon.

Okay, I did a bad thing. So my 99 spec wing with the Carbon fiber plate came yesterday. Gramotor took a long time, but they personally hand delivered it and everything seems to be exactly as described. Anyways, I just saw some 99 spec twins with only 10K miles listed on FB market place, and bought it (for a very good price). THe seller happens to also frequent this forum as CrispyRX7 too so didn't second guess buying it at all.

Justifying it because the 99 spec turbos are low mileage, a bit better than the 93's and will save me money from needing to go single anytime soon. Will stay twin as long as I possibly can with a reliable setup. Current ones don't appear to be leaking, but they also have 80k miles on them right now.

Only question I have, since I have the 93-95 y-pipe and I bought the 93-95 TT Greddy V-Mount, should I buy the Efini Y-pipe kit from Ari @ RX7.com? Not sure how big of a deal this is (or if the v-mount will even be compatible with the version I bought lol)

99 spec is drop in - you will be fine.
99 spec exhaust manifolds I believe are have something added to the iron to make them last longer and reduce cracking.
I have 99's with the BNR stage 1 drop-ins - I have not dyno'ed it but you get the 360 degree bearing and more - just check their site.
I believe you do not need the Efini -Y pipe since the greddy vm kit attaches to the normal y-pipe with the silicone coupler.

You got some quality parts - can't wait to see it running!

Okay so I did a bit of searching and was thinking about how my FD has 80k miles on the sequentials and since I bought a practically new 99 spec twin turbo, it would be smart to buy new solenoids. Is it correct that I only need the 4 below, that I will inquire about from Ray Crowe? I will also buy the windshield, rear window and sunroof moldings as well while I order these. I bought all the vacuum hosing from boostcontroller that Dave suggested. Think I should get on this asap because my V-Mount will be here anyday now and will be able to get this in the shop asap to get the build going.

1480-13-240A - Quantity: 2, Charge Relief and Charge Control

N390-18-741 - Quantity: 1, Turbo Control (Solenoid Rack)
N3A1-18-741 - Quantity: 1, Turbo Control (by the ACV)

Really if the solenoids are fine, leave them be. New does not guarantee that they are good. If they work, let them keep doing their thing.

Finally got the fenders rolled, new wheels and suspension installed. The car seems wayyyy more more planted and feels amazing driving it around. My bushings overall aren’t cracked so I’m going to hold off on changing them even though I have a complete bushing overhaul set now.

Just need to get my car to the shop now. My guy has two cars he’s working on before I can take it in. My v mount arrived last month and I bought the Tanabe medallion exhaust by suggestion of Dale, I’m going to try to install that this weekend after buying some jack stands, if I get time.

Car needs alignment and I can lower the car more, but I’m not going to go crazy with lowering it.

Disclaimer: the iPhone 11 combined with good lighting makes the paint look better than it really is. Still needs a fresh coat of VR paint and some other work.

Develop good hose removal technique with the proper tube tools. The big risk in replacing the hoses is breaking the plastic tips off the solenoids.

Before you start know where you are going to get replacement solenoids and the cost (i.e. $80+ each).

(Apologies if this has been covered above.)

Thanks brother will definitely look into this, and also relay concerns to the guy who will work on the car. Going to ask him if I can go to the shop on off days and just shadow him and help out just to learn more. Eventually want to work on the car on my own completely but want my first build done right with no learning curve.

Ty! Going to keep them for a good while until I can find some 'grail' rims in the long haul.

Love the look of the RPF1's, just need to figure out sizing and will buy some center hub caps to complete the look.

Got carried away and lowered her to the final height of 24” off the ground on all fours. Like it a lot even though I wasn’t going to go this far down originally.

I tried to find the air pump hose but looks like I’ll need to fabricate one on my own and didn’t account for this when I was about to install the high flow CAT and I’m too sleepy to go to the hardware store to try to find a silicone hose. Will leave the Tenabe Medallion and the bonez high flow for another day. Won’t really be driving the FD a whole lot until I get a proper ECU anyways so I’m not scared about getting pulled over anytime soon.

BC Underappreciated

https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/q1011142435

I have picked up several sets of these. To my knowledge they are the only adjustable OEM shocks/struts.

They were a key selling feature of the Type R Bathurst R (that and the CF interior). The springs are from the hard suspension.

These shocks were made by Showa and were also used on the NSX of the era.

I have them mounted with the Tien S tech springs (graduated rate).

I really love them.
