Your weather stripes and exterior trim look really good ( except windshield moulding )....I would clean them up and save $1k +.
WARNING....remove all trim / seals / weather strips and any part that does not need paint YOURSELF....your paint shop will lose and/or break any parts they remove.

So this is all I'll be needing? The lined out stuff is stuff I already have in excellent condition.
(on body)
Door drip mouldings (on body)
Door belt line mouldings (on door)
Sun roof weatherstrip
Windshield moulding
Back glass moulding

Glad to hear!
I was wondering I did some searching and saw HKS twin power has provided quite a bit of help for issues people have because it delivers consistent voltage to the coils. Is this worth looking into? I already ordered smart coils and new plugs from Sakebomb and figured this would be a good investment to compliment the coils.

So a quick update. I got my title in the mail and it’s a clean title now! No idea how that works but I’m happy as hell!
I bought all my parts I need except for the windshield, rear window and moonroof window seals and an ECU. My mechanic said he can likely source a haltec. I’m staying twins for now and not opening the motor since I got dual 100+ compression. My engine harness is currently likely in bad condition and along with the haltec my mechanic is an expert at electrical and wiring and will be building a new harness for my engine as well.
Part list as follows:
-Greddy V Mount (on its way)
-SBG 25 row Keaken 99 spec mount dual oil cooler kit with nylon lines (on its way - need this since I have a touring single oil cooler)
-aeromotive stealth 340 fuel pump (on its way)
-ACT S/S clutch
ACT Prolite flywheel w counter weight (on its way)
-vacuum lines to replace every single vacuum line on the FD
-bonez high flow cat
-99 spec front bumper from Ari
-99 spec wing w carbon fiber from graamotor
-new popup headlight lid
-new oem hood
-IG1A smart coils
-NGK premium spark plugs
-X-Series Wideband AFR Sensor
-Stainless Steel Brake Lines+Clutch Lines
-RPF1 17x10 +38 wheels 255/40/17 Bridgestone RE11a
-Popup headlights
-Megan Racing Coilovers (gonna use what the car came with for now)
My plans right now is just to highly prioritize making the current motor and twin turbo setup as reliable as possible, and then maybe squeeze as much power out of them as I can with the lowest psi possible and just run my motor+twins until they need to be rebuilt and replaced, respectively.
When all the parts are fully here going to discuss with my mechanic to see if it’d be possible to coordinate a full repaint job to white, Innocent Blue mica or titanium gray metallic. If not will just stick with the same color and repaint the vintage red. If it's too expensive/too much work I won't mind the vintage red, I have grown to like it as well.
Feels wrong to bump the thread without offering much of an update but this helps me keep my thought process in check

Yeah I like it a lot. Only the vintage red tho. Did a lot of searching but couldn’t find the definitive difference between the NU and the other paint code on the spirit R. Wish I could see them in person but will prob just have to wing it lmao
Person I have in mind for the bodywork and paint job is available in October and his work takes 3-6 months but does a good job and is pretty affordable. I still am in love with white but a well done red is beautiful too + owning a clean title car with original paint is also appealing.
SBG 25 row Kraken oil coolers and aeromotive stealth 340 came in today. Also ordered 2 parts from Banzai-Racing. Had trouble with email prob neither of our fault but messaged after my order on here and they shipped it the same day. Got the billet aluminum filler neck AST delete and b&m style short shifter from them.
The Prolite flywheel and counterweight I ordered from Throtl is going to prob be the last item that arrives since it’s back ordered to 8/25

Hey there, where are you located?
I bought an FD out of state recently and am going to have AAA do the necessary inspection to get it registered. I don’t want to deal with the dmv. Then I was going to either non op it or get the temporary tags while I try to pass smog.

Tom suggested to replace all the rubber tubing with silicone and gave me a good contact, hopefully I can get that in order too. Supposedly you can buy every single tubing as one huge kit in silicone through Mazda
Ray Crowe, it's the full coolant hose set...all OEM Mazda.
not easy to replace a few, but a needed task on a 27yr old car.

Received this shiftknob from ZE Power MX6, love the feel and weight to it even though some people shared there was a 'lightweight' version as well. Just slipped the leather on, hopefully it looks alright. Once my build is done I really need to detail the interior. Looking for a double din mount and a new relatively easy install head unit since the current setup looks very, very ugly.

Vmount is the way to go. Mine in up at DNA getting same thing, and I'm getting a new motor as well as a few other upgrades.
the double din stereo is nice, but the single din with a slot/cubby under is useful as well because as you already know, there is no where to hold anything like a phone etc. So the slot/cubby comes in handy. Just get a nicer looking single head unit.

there’s a couple R1 flip din compartments for sale on FB marketplace for 100$ May end up buying one and look for a good single DIN head unit. May have less electrical issues this way as well.

Unplugged my single DIN wires but left the power because the wiring for it looked sus so won’t touch that just yet, not trying to get electrocuted until I get some help and buy the replacement head unit. I tried fitting this compartment below it and it fit somewhat snug but still too loose for my taste and didn’t look right. Thinking I’m going to have to wrestle the wires to fit it in, but still can’t see how I’d get a solid figment.
also the mechanism that opens and closes it seems off. Not sure if I got ripped off. Can you guys tell?

Your car does look like its in pretty good condition, my car has a bunch of parts on it from the early 2000s.
Part of the fun is hunting down and finding all the parts you need. Waiting for them to arrive is the hard part!
I definitely agree with the others, it would be a good idea to drive the car a little bit before going full speed into some major mods, as it will require alot of supporting mods and a tune to make everything work happy together. So awesome that you got the car a clean title!!

Jatt,
I also got my silicon hoses from Dale's recommendation.
Looking good. These cars are special and I'm happy to see one with an owner that will take care of it.
Like many say waiting is the hard part. I've learned do not set a date because most of the time it creates unnecessary stress.
As long as forward progress is made that is all that matters.
If you run into an issue no problem, just take the time to fix it right the first time.
The most important thing is that you have the car, you have a plan and it will be that much sweeter when it's finally done.

I bought some goodies from Goodfellas- 94+ pristine OEM front strut bar in red, ‘RX7’ 99 spec front license plate, front mud guards in VR, the *correct* R1 single din compartment (last guy scammed me on FB market place).
Also got this bad boy from ZE power max
Julio said just hit him up as soon as the Vmount arrives. My Prolite flywheel is here so only real thing I’m waiting on is this. By the time it gets here I may as well just buy Ohlin DFV’s and have Goodfellas source some from Sakebombgarage lol. I haven’t had the chance to see how my bushings and all that is doing. Been so swamped at work with COVID cases, and me making the dumb decision to pick up overtime this month (only 8 days off) had no time to do small stuff like that.
I still need to hit up the guy (Crowe something) for my windshield, rear window and sunroof seals later on. Julio said he can build a custom harness and may be able to source a haltec. Since I’m staying twins for as long as I can I guess we will decide whether to go straight fit the 1500 (2500?) or PFC first and then later go to the haltec once I go with the 8374 in the distant future.

Forgot to update the 99 spec wing is being worked on right now and should be shipped out next week by Gramotoring. They are suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper slow, but I think their quality is top notch from what I read. Currently are polishing the carbon fiber plates.
