I can't help but to ramp about people who say that rotary cars are unreliable. I drove the car from Orlando to Daytona, ran it hard and drove it back from the event. Stayed tuned for the videos. Brap on rotards.

They are incredible. I just had mine down on the oval in homestead with Phil and his FD.... they are a blast. Last years Deal's gap was awesome. So awesome that my whole project was worth it. Incredible machines that one must drive in order to truly appreciate. Very happy its working out for you!

Deals gap

Deals gap is on my bucket list for sure. I wanted to go this year but was unable to get the time off from work. I hoping to go next year. That is awesome to run your car at Homestead. I would love to see a video of that. I hope to get down there in the near future.

I may head up to Deals this fall so I will let you know, but the rotary meet is obviously a lot of fun. Homestead is fun. I can let you know next time we are going and your more than welcome to come.

Update

Nothing as of right now to report as of right now on this build. Currently researching tires and tire size for the Fd. Leaning towards some falken rt660. Front 255/35/18 on 9 5 rim and 295/30/18 on the rears on a 10 inch rim. Optional sizes may be 265/35 fronts and 285/30 rears.

New shoes

Well for those who follow me on Youtube know the rear end of the car was all over the place coming out of the turns at Daytona. Those rear Yokahama tires were from way back in 2011. The Yokahamas were 255/35/18 front and 275/30/18. The new tires are Falken RT660 255/35/18 and rears are 285/30/18. I will be back to Daytona and u am sure the car will put down much better times.

Thank you brother. The car is a whole other car in a very good way. I really want to go but I will trailer it up then unload the fun there. I was trying to find the date but was unable to find it. When is the event?

Going to relocate the regulator to the cold side of engine bay.

Getting her ready for some curvey roads. I had this fuel regulator under my intake since 2016 but moved it as a precaution. I heard of a few stories of them leaking fuel on a hot engine and causing engine bay fires.

Wow thats way over there! I moved mine also. This reminded me though, I need to check and make sure the screws are tightened on the clamps and maybe add a bit of locktite!

Power steering hose leaking. Removed it and sending out to a local hydrolic company to make a new one. Mazda wanted over $400 for the hose. Lol

@spintriangles what files are you posting? They don't display and I'm not about to download them.

Pics

These are pics of the new power steering hose but for some reason when I try to upload the pic it cokes up as a download. I never had problems posting pics in the past, so I am super confused.

It's the picture's file format that's the issue. Don't think the forum can display ".heic" picture file types. Posting as A .JPG or .PNG seems to work though.

.heic is a new format for iPhone images that saves space. You can change your phone to jpg by going to settings/camera/formats and switch to "most compatible".

Dgrr

It was such great time and the car ran great. All the hard work making sure the setup was well balanced paid off. The turbo spooled quikly and the suspension worked beyond my expectations. We did have one hicup. Thanks to Rich, Steve and Mike who helped find the problem. The alarm relay went bad and we bypssed it and continued our drive. I met many super cool people, like Dale Clark and Matt also. Looking foward for 2025 DGRR.

Congrats!!! It feels awesome for sure. I was so happy to get up there, have the car run flawlessly, meet cool people, and bond with the car a bit. I missed the last 2 and hoping to make the 2025 myself! Congrats bro!
