FL 93 rx7 Fd improving a great sportscar

My build started in 2016 with a 93 rx7 I owned since 1998. The car sat since 2005 till 2016 after my painter blew the engine with a joy ride. I had a baby on the way and I made a choice not to invest anymore money into the car. Two kids later and a purchase of a house I finally was able to get a hold of some loose change to start my build.

I’m so scared of that happening to my FD, honestly. Well look forward to seeing your build.

Kilo Racing

March of 2016 the car is parked in front of my house awaiting a flat bed truck. The car was delivered to Kilo Racing for engine rebuild

Please dont laugh

It was 2000 when I bought those wheels and that custom hood. I used to run a fmic. That has all changed a little by little. The car has a more roadcourse/street car inspired setup now and there still room for improvement. (Under construction)

Yes it sucks. Everyone wants to drive these cars and I hate having to drop it off anywhere. I have learned to do a lot of my own work for this reason

Picked up a jdm engine to be rebuilt by Kilo Racing. I just wanted to start back with the basics and did not want to use my old engine. Plus the housings on the old engine were toast.

Some goodies to replace my old setup

Turbo kit from Sean at Aspec. Pte twin scroll 6262 1ar B.B turbo, 4inch down pipe. The first pics was of a divided manifold going into one wastegate but changed it to divided manifold and two wastegates. Wastegates are two precision w.g. I wanted better spool response.

I will try to post everyday so I can get the thread up to speed on where the build is today. You might get some laughs for my car is on the second build. The first build was late 90s early 2000 and i was like 24 years old.

I was fast n furious before the movie. Lol

There is my old interior. It was painted red and that hood was a custom fiberglass hood. This was all part of the first build back in the late 90s.

I start to remove all my super bright red fast n furioua plastics. The goal is to remove the red paint and wood finish. I will strip them and paint the bumper black.

Removing that old glue from that wood kit was a pita. Once removed though I sanded everything down and spray painted in with black bumper spray. It took a little time and work but I do like it over the fast n furious red.

I am wondering if the pics that I placed on this build are visual to others.

Picked up this 6 puck sprung act clutch kit. Need something that will hold my projected power goal.
