Took best mazda @ ifo in Gainesville this past weekend, no class that we could race in something turbo v8 DQed us.

Have a 3.08 gear sitting in a box for it aswell. Going to upgrade to walbro 485 dual pumps and bigger injectors e85 time :chug: Hopefully get all this done before 2014 then save up for new wheels and shine burnout fenders.

can you please post more info/pics of that tail light modification? i really want to do this. looks awesome.

i saw some random "florida street racing" video on youtube earlier and noticed your tail lights.

 

Your tail lights. I want them. Or at least you can point in the direction of how to find some for myself lol.

I saw the video of your car getting whooped on by a POS MR2 with a honda motor. But what really stuck out was the tail lights on the 7. I instantly fell in love and have been doing research for an hour now to figure out who has them on what car.

 

IIRC his tails were a one off.

He also toasted his clutch...once again IIRC...at the start of the race with that MR2. The MR2 is a very nice car that is probably faster than 95% of the RX7's on this forum.

 

Oh no doubt it is faster. That thing is nasty man. I've watched a few videos on it that 1320 puts up and it by no means is a POS. I was just throwing a little tough love at it

If it's a one off, I wouldn't mind getting in touch with the fella's and finding out how they wired it, and what sort of LED array(s) they used. It looks like 4 different LED strips probably on 2 or 3 relays.

 

A belgium guy of the name rx_sam did a few of them I was lucky to nab a set and now everyone wants them lol. He used high quality german leds and just hard mounted them in the reflector. I have a few friends who want these or similar and I have been itching to do a few changes. My 3rd brake light is just a simple bar mounted to the hatch

Been neglecting updating this lol... did a few things

Swapped the rear gear to a 3.08 now have an end of gear of 244 with a 28in tall tire


Did a few track legal things, SFI flexplate dampner and a driveshaft loop


Built a custom shifter linkage on the trans so we can use our first run 4l80e with a sidewinder gated shifter. Very solidly mounted.


Exhaust was originally from a car that had a t56, hung low and had a center blow through resonator that really killed ground clearance. Reworked and tucked up.

 

i've stopped posting here since i sold the car, but its amazing to see what you've done to my old car man. truly awesome.

i never had the income to make it what i wanted, but you've gone above and beyond. awesome car.

 

Picked up this cowl hood off craigslist for a good deal, hope this helps with highspeed drag vs no hood





Going to need to trim the sides a lil bit and cut a slip for the wiper if I want to keep them.

Managed to get my buddy Fred of Conkling Auto to donate the matching front wheels to our cause aswell! going to rebuild these to 17x11 for the rear and move the current rear(17x10) to the front. going to run 275/40 fronts and 315/35 r888 rears for street driving + roll racing and be able to slap on the mickeys for events. Yay for matching front and rears soon!

Well we get out to bradenton and there is no racing going on so we pull off the trailer and say we will race anything. They are the first to step up saying sure why not we are here to racing anything too. All we knew was it was a k20 swapped mr2. We are staging for the roll and you her the shush shush shush of the dogbox and all we can think was whelp this is over they have more $$ in that transmission than my power train. The fireballs it shot were huge. It put 94X hp down in their previous drag car so i doubt it was making any less. We lost that race before it started they weighed less and had more power. We are still sorting out tranny issues then we are going for an e85 tune should put us at 1kwhp and a rerun is on the table, should be more fair and fun.

 

Pulled my fuel pedestal out and swapped my walbro 255s for walbro 485s. One step closer to e85 and more horsepower!
