Testing your Auxiliary Injection system

Those of you that have AI, did you test it before you tuned the car?

I put my kit in a couple weeks ago and I'm going to take the car to Ari Yallon to get it tuned, but I don't want to drive/take the car all the way down there and find out I don't have my system set up right or something. Would it be safe to run just water right now, just to see if it works, and then maybe drain the tank after that until I go? Or do I need to just chance it and take the car down there and find out on the dyno? I could hook a laptop up to it and see if I can adjust it, but I'm not savvy on tuning ANYTHING just yet and my laptop took a **** in the desert again this year so no love there.

A friend mentioned running just water to test it shouldn't hurt anything, and I agree, it probably wouldn't, but I don't want to take any unnecessary chances. What do you guys think?

Yes

Yes

What system? A lot of systems have a button or way you can test it, put the nozzle on your windshield.

What exactly are you saying yes to? LOL I imagine you're saying yes to the part about testing it, but what after that?

I got my gf's sister's laptop, so I'm going to install the program on there and at least tell it to read MAP vs. RPM, then I'll test it.

Oh, the kit I have is FJO. I forgot which injector I have, I think it's the 700cc to support 500hp, but I don't remember for sure. I'll have to look at it. But I think I'll put the water through at first and then possibly move up to just a tad of meth.

Well I had some problems with the install disc. Turns out it was missing some files, so I called them today and they sent me a new file.

After installing it and opening the program, I'm a bit confused haha. I've been doing the setup steps, and there are a couple I don't understand. Keep in mind, I'm still doing this just to test the system. Right now, it has zeros across the board, so I'm pretty sure even if I pump some air into the vacuum line it won't spray anything.

For one, I'm not sure what to put for the RPM multiplier. Also, I'm not sure what values to put just to test out the water, or where to put these values (since it's laid out like the PFC fuel map).

Anyone with the FJO kit have any pointers for me?

for RPM, use 0.5 as the multiplier.

To test, I made a map that started pumping out 50% water at 0-psi.

Try that.

Awesome, thanks Neil, I'll give that a shot. And thanks for the RPM info.

Cool

Did you mean Chris Ott from Rotary Performance will do the tuning???
He is Ari's partner and the tuner at RP, AFAIK.
I have been going there for 10 years and never seen Ari tuning, he might, but not my knowledge.

Yeah probably Chris. My tuner said he had talked to Ari for a couple hours before tuning my car last year and he's the one that told me Ari would do the tuning, but I just heard not long ago that Chris actually does the tuning. Whoever, doesn't matter to me haha.

Neil, did you put divided by 2 for the rpm multiplier, meaning .5? Also, how did you put in 50% at 0psi? I've been trying to put .5 and 0.5 in the blocks on the map but it won't save. I'll consult the manual again when I try it again tonight, just curious.
