There's only one nozzle being used. As for the cc's, that I'm unsure of. Its the smallest nozzle that came with the coolingmist AI kit. You could go to their website and if its not listed there I'm sure you could email them for an answer, but yea...its just the smallest one that came with their kit.

hey guys.im jason .

i am more than happy to answer any questions u have as everything is done by me and the tune is a rice racing advised tune.

as for timing i run at 20-24psi - 5deg lead timing till 7000rpm,then 6deg upto 8500rpm.this is with a split of 10deg.

no,i dont have a knock sensor, hence my tune is very conservative.

the 550rwhp run is -
shell vpower 98 octane pump fuel
straight pre turbo water injection(rice racing kit)
5-6deg advance
10.2afr
24psi boost
880deg egt (measured in each runner)

there is mch more in,so much more its not funny but as it is now it spins at over 200kmh,so even at 550rwhp its just a number thats not relevant.i will be going back in a few months and using his new 1200hp dyno so i dont have to pull torque out of the bastard.

then i will work on the transient afrs and timing and also if its proving reliable i will increase another 2-3psi and bring timing back to 5deg total again.this should see a comfortable 575-600rwhp.

Nice run! What turbo ya using
proboost racing gt45 style turbo.

70mm comp/0.66ar front
78mm rear in 1.05 a/r turbine housing

has heaps left in it,i made 537rwhp on my road tune minus 1 increment of fuel, then i added 1deg advance after peak torque and it made 550rwhp.its in an 1145kg 2st gen rx7 so i did not push it any further.

but its got a comfortable 575-625rwhp on 28-32psi boost i reckon.but it wil never hook up.

Pete how do you keep getting yourself banned from message forums? I was on another forum reading through and saw you got banned from it as well. It's kinda funny.

As for the 500+ club on AI, I'll be there soon enough. I have the turbo and WI for it, just need to add my second fuel pump, raise the base pressure and turn the boost up from 16 to 20ish. Oh and get some runs on a dyno somewhere. What's a good place in Houston for a couple dyno pulls?

I hardly printout dynosheets as i never feel like i am finished.

But anyways.
Here is one dyno sheet i printed out for a friend. Car has made more power since this dyno sheet.

But hey. When i have proof of the other power runs. Then ill post them.
Until then this will do

Howard, I thought you have been running 20+ psi on the dyno with your car for awhile? How much boost were you running when your map sensor line came off and it went lean, gained 30hp and still had no knock?

Congrats on your personal achievement Howard! However, as the ''GODFATHER'' of AI, you of all people need to run some 'REAL' boost and show'em how its done. ...i know and remember reading why you didn't boost more (becuase of a maxxed out weak wastegate spring), but I'm just sayin' you gotta be the one to run 25+PSI on 93oct & AI and make BIG numbers on your daily...

Brian, you'll appreciate this... i talked to Kevin Draper today. one of my go to guys for turbo tech. i need more midrange. i was thinking of going back to stage 3 wheels. Kevin said the stage 5 wheels, though measureably larger, are better mid range than the 3 because of being more flat V curved. he said to change out the .82 housings for .63 and i will gain 500 rpm more spool.

on the upside i will be changing my actuator springs to 19 psi... they were 15 giving 13 so i should end up w 17 just off the spring.

they should give me 26-27 which is my target along w 630.

it was great to talk to kevin... as you may know he has throat cancer apparently from agent orange and his days in Vietnam.

he currently is driving a twin turbo 700 rwhp mustang.

car guys don't let things like physical problems keep them from speed.

here's to you Kevin.

Congrats Howard. Were you testing with Dick (Lambert) and the boys at their shop in Green Bay? Just curious. Excellent numbers! Congrats again!

OK guys here is my long over due dyno sheet with tons of info on meth control.

@22 PSI achieved ;
445.7 FT-TQ @ 6098.RPM
539.3 HP @ 6759.RPM

VIDEO:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikbp7xDqHeg

  • AEM EMS
  • AEM METH PUMP and nozzles
  • All readings on DynaPack.
  • We tried different nozzle sizes and the light blue graph is the Super sizes nozzle. It was too radical so we went down.
  • Happy to report knock was pretty much zero volts like 0.1v was max. Power FC users can just read it as zero - 3 scale.

forgot to mention this motor has been running these levels for about 2yrs. We also noticed a different in difference meth to water ratios and quality of meth.
50/50 windshield washer was returning lower HP and torque
50/50 industrial meth and distilled usg water returned more torque and better performance under heat soak
60/40 (meth/water) same as above line in resource returned highest torque at 22lbs.

I've been with the 60/40 ratio for months and still testing.

I will be at the NJ motorsport park (thunderbolt) testing on july 25th and at summitpoint on sept 19...will hopefully be back with data logged numbers.

I also have the AEM map if anyone is interested...I will post it up soon

here's my dyno sheet. 506.96 SAE hp on pump and meth. at that point i was out of wastegate spring. in retrospect i am unhappy w lack of midrange and happy w peak hp. i am currently switching from .82 T3 housings to .63. i am retaining my large stage 5 turbine wheels.

i run AGP aluminum modular wastegate actuators and am switching to stiffer springs. my turbos optimum boost is 25 psi. i will be on the dyno next week.

Kwerks... thanks for sharing. nice spool.... 200 rwhp at 4250. isn't the lack of knock amazing w meth.

Damn, nice work guys!

Maybe this will motivate me to get off my rear, fix mine, and get it dyno'd!!

Thanks Howard I remember you called me in 06 to talk about brakes and started me on the path of more meth and all thanks to your advice I took the better path.

As for dyno ROB from maximum spent a VERY long time getting the torque right on our goals. Torque builds strong and stays ahead of hp making for a kick *** driving feel. Feels stronger this way than the tune I had for 610rwhp.

By the way do you have your AFR chart?

What size is a supersize nozzle? And what turbo is this with? Very Nice results. Have you been retuning for the different ratios of meth to water? Also i'm sure the knock reading is low, but are you sure the knock sensor is working? For a long time my knock sensor just showed 1 on the pfc at all times. then after several months it started working all of a sudden. When it did start working knock was around 20 at 20 psi. i just considered this no knock and just engine noise being picked up. Even under low speed driving and cruise it would show around 10 or so at a minimum.
