It's funny, you hear people talking "Well, E85 is only rated at 103 motor octane".

Little do they know, Methanol is only rated at 105 motor octane.

Check out the AIT in this chart.

im about to upgrade my fuel system, running e85 next year on my big streetport + greddy t78.

Im looking for approx 500rwhp as a start.

First question, stock fuel lines, when will they become a restriction? what size would you recommend?

Fuel pumps and injectors, when calculating gasoline +30% extra for e85 i would need 1260 p and 1680 secondarys which would put out 5900cc a minute, to be able to run 500rwhp and 85% duty i've come up to about 6000cc a minute.. is this right?

I've got a 265l/h pump in tank now, if i supply an anti surge tank with 2x265 l/h, what pump will i need to feed the rails? or are there better solutions? feeding the rails with 2x265 in tank pumps is risky?

I will take my FD up to Gabi who is the best and most experienced rotary tuner here in sweden. He has big experience of E85 and rotary engines and he has run with E85 on his 900hp 20B engine for more then a year now.
My engine is a big race streetport with Xcessive manifold A-spec GT500 turbo scalloped and lightened S4 T II rotors that my friend Carlos made for me and some more secret stuff. The only problem i have today is i cant deside yet witch injector i should run and becuse im use PFC and i wont use to big injectors so the engine stumbles but i work something out

Chrisspeed, I have decided to go E98 on my Rx7 and see how it works. I am now running a dbb67mm turbo and only going after 500rwhp, so ill see how well the
street ability is and lower end torque is. Ill let people know in the next couple of weeks the results. We are mixing 10% race gas with the E98 for all our cars.

Good luck.
Wish we had E98 here. At that level does the ethanol start to exibit the harsh qualities of methanol/alcohol?

No not at all. Were running a 2005 s2000 on this stuff and making 376rwhp on a stock motor. The car is a blast. Also we found that we can level out the torque drop
at higher rpms by more timing and leaner. 16psi and GT30r. Ralph

Yep. Found the same here also. The knock sensor is much quieter with the fuel even when pushed to the limits.
All I can hope is that when it's applied to a rotary those same great qualities should be very beneficial. It's like being able to run methanol on a daily basis.

This thread is a good read. My car should be going very soon aswell.....If all goes as planned. I think the $2.00 a gallon for E85 is looking really encouraging right about now.

You could always do what my buddy here did and take a road trip and fill up a drum of the moonshine!
BTW. Evo's love e85.
