Adding E85 with no other changes DOES make more power. He gained 167 whp just from changing from 93 oct to E85.

Hey XJHEAD hope life is treating you good. I can't remember if I posted it here or not but here goes. I wanted to know just how much I would gain going from 93 oct. pump gas to E85. So just before I pulled the fuel system apart, I took my car to the dyno. I got 901rwhp, 902rwhp no N2O, no inter-cooler, boost only timing locked at 38* pulling 3/4* per lb. of boost with 6BTM NGK9s gap at 34. The first three pulls on the dyno with E85 I only changed the jets in the carb, no timing change no re-gaping the plugs. It pulled 1054rwhp, 1057rwhp, 1067rwhp. The boost went up 2 lbs. with the fuel change. I can't say enough about this stuff. I know for a fact my car has not been to the limit and I don't believe it has put the power down yet that it's set at because of the converter (I know I know woulda coulda shoulda). LOL You've all heard that before but the fact is I did the change with the same car same dyno same rpm and the thing was unreal we ended up with 14-pulls no changes . Just think I added 8# more boost only pulling 7.5* form the 38* total and 225hp shot of N2O pulling 5*more and only came up with 151 more rwhp LOL I hope this helps those that don't believe, this stuff is great. Heck I'm driving the car all over the place with the same tune on it. One thing I do have to change is the single N/S to duel, the motor while on the dyno on boost only would start to go a little lean at the end of the run. I used the N2O to make it fatter. Rod

HEY! before i have supper, can i just drain the gasoline out of my single turbo fd and dump in E-85,i use an LT10X MT , and i got the map just about perfect, good cold start - 06C all the way up to 85C, great drivability. 10.5 a/f at 8 psi till 16psi, any advice here, THX Ron in Austin, lots of E-85 stations around here, they think there green.

There is no reason you can't daily it. Fuel consumption would be on the higher than w/ the regular 91 we have. Is there several stations w/ E85 in Edmond? We don't have many south side OKC.

there arent any in edmond but a friend in okc with a yellow evo drives out of town occasionally and fills up two fuel drums. i normally just filled up at the station in 63rd and western.

True but, im also concernend that the oil will get saturated with ethanol (blow by) that it may cause lubrication issues. Will we need to change oil more often? how much lower is the operating temp? crispeed do you have any info on these questions?
i want to see some people that are using this for a decent amount of time and a decent amount of street miles before i take a chance and possibly blow up my new 20b motor.
