Help Help Help. Tuning woes

Ok so I will try to explain everything I can.

Got a direct fire ignition for my AEM coils from C.Ludwig. Also got a FFE trigger wheel from Full Function Engineering.

Ok we installed the wiring harness first to get the car running and home from the shop, fired up on the first try. hoory. Car didn't rev well and the exhaust was glowing red at idle tho. I was able to drive it home, so cool. Down low there was no power, it would stumble and sputter. Once in the 4k and above rpms, it seemed fine. Got it home and installed the ffe kit next morning.

Followed al the directions and everything went well. Again it fired up on the first try. Well here is the problem. It was running good but the timing seemed off. We adjusted the trigger angle and kinda go the timing mark to line up at 0 with the ffe pointer. Now question is do we read off the rear rotor trailing or leading plug. On the leading we could get it to read perfect on the timing light. When put on the rear it would be so far off u couldn't find the mark.

So we have played with the trigger settings from 180 to 360 and the car would run on the 180 setting, but would die after about a minute on the 360 setting. We used my old map, a turblown map, another map, to no avail..

I don't know If I have explain everthing how you guys can figure it out to help. But I will list the car setup and see where to go from here.

13b-rew
adaptronic 420
ffe trigger wheel
aem coils with C.Ludwig direct fire wiring
GTX4294
ID1000/2200

Hmmm. Not sure what else to list. Lets hear some ideas. I really need a good tuner in this area or someone wiling to travel.

my guess is you have a trigger edge inverted and it has shifted timing ,, recheck wiring polarity and retime

Which FFE trigger wheel do you have? There are more than one. My maps are for the Rx-8/Subaru style maps...

Why are there notes written on the directions? You need to pin the ECU connector the way it's shown in the directions and make sure that the corresponding coil is connected to it's correct spark plug. Although, from the look of the pictures, you have it installed correctly.

Yeah. Chris, its not ur wiring. It seems to be the map. Car runs fine on 180°. When switched to 360° as suggested, it idles high, and when u adjust the throttle lower the car dies. Rpm on the cluster reads 1500, rpm on the ecu reads 3500. I just labeled everything to take pics to show its installed correctly. I went over everything 3 times. Checked, rechecked and checked again. The car fires right up on the first try every time. Idles high, but drives like poo.

Im lost. Wish I could drop it off somewhere.

Preferably a cliff. Lol

If the ecu is reading 3500rpm and it is only doing an actual 1500rpm it will most likely be double firing ignition and injectors.

You are probably waste sparking trailing ignition which is not good.

Go into the triggering and check that the 360 degree reset and interval stuff is all right.

EDIT: does it sound like it is at 1500rpm or 3500rpm, if it is actually at 3500rpm you will have to modify the tach output to suit.
