XS Power...?

Has anyone heard of XS Power? They do a full exhaust system for the RX and I was wondering what the fit is like?

I know that it is only realtively cheap for a turbo back system but my bro has one on his single turbo supra and the quality of it is absolutely spot on and it definately gave him gains in power, not losses.

Just wondering what the fitment is like?

Thanks guys

PS I did do a search on XS Power but couldn't find anything. Thanks again

XS stuff

XS power parts are eBay parts. Most people on the forum avoid parts like this. BUT, I just popped one on my buddy’s car, and it sounded good (very loud). We paid $300 for the turbo back (down, resonated mid, and rear pipes).
There were 2 problems.
1 - Down pipe is no good for 2 reasons
- car was RHD and there wasn't clearance for steering shaft (not their fault!)
- the O2 sensor bung was positioned wrong on our part (too close (1/2")to
the rear turbo compressor housing)
2 - Silencer is no good. Takes a 3" system and caps it off with a 1" pipe for the
exhaust to “flow” through. I know silencers usually kill some HP, but seriously?
1" pipe??? If a very loud system is no good for you, keep your stock exhaust
for better performance.

Overall, the mid and rear pipes fit very well, and we were both happy with the sound. Great bang for the buck IMO. The down pipe didnt fit our RHD cars, but it looks like it should fit an LHD fine. The company said they sold over 100 systems, and they never had that problem,(that O2 sensor thing) and they gave us money back for the down pipe.

Recommendation: buy it and try it. Its only $300 (most DPs are more then that!)

Mine is a RHD aswell. was it a pain in the @rse to fit then or did it still go on relatively easily. I don't fancy a really loud exhaust to be honest. Any other opinions on a relatively cheap exhaust system?

Well for starters, you ought not go with a full turbo back on the stock ECU/waste gate/fuel system. You'll be inviting boost creep, and that can be very costly.

Aside of that, assuming that you've prepared the rest of the car to run an open exhaust, I'd suggest getting an HKS down pipe(these are made for RHD cars, they have an extra bend to clear the steering crap), rx7store magnaflow resonated midpipe and a Racing Beat Dual Tip cat-back. That will be the most reasonable noise, best sounding exhaust you can run. It should cost less than $1,000 all together. Remember, this is assuming you have upgraded the rest of the car to handle running an open exhaust.

Here's a link to the rx7store midpipe

http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/resmidpipefd3s.htm

And here's the HKS downpipe

http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/hksdpfd3s.htm

I can attest that the resonated midpipe flows better, is quieter and much less raspy when directly compared to a high flow cat.

Do keep in mind, though, that rx7store has notoriously slow shipping. I did receive my midpipe within 2 weeks of ordering(I live about 7 hours from the actual shop) which is considered pretty quick for them.

i like loud tho :] My car is quite loud (when i drive through the car park, the sound of it sets alarms on the cars off ) but i wouldnt mind a little bit louder (not stupidly)

r u sure thatreasonated midpipe flows better then hi-flow?

Pretty sure, since I used to run a high-flow cat and am now running the resonated midpipe. Though if you're going for loud, nothing flows better than a standard, non resonated midpipe(except for an open header, but trust me you don't want to do that with a rotary).

The loudest setup for the FD would be an open downpipe, open midpipe and an Apexi N1 cat-back.

Usually I discourage people from running excessively loud exhausts, but since there's an ocean between us I won't be hearing much of it

i installed the xs power e-bay system on my car, mine is also rhd so i modified to fit around steering, o-2 bung in wrong place so remounted it, mine is 3'' all the way, welds all look good, fit ok but had to mess around a bit, mine is quite quiet, not bad for a full CHEAP EXHAUST, but would i purchase another one for my fd NO.

Was it a pain to modify it for the RHD?? Also where abouts did you relocate the O" sensor.

What sort of prep would I have to do in order to run the turbo back exhaust. The only reason I ask is that I need an exhaust system asap as my system is seriously rusting and has a hole the size of a golfball in the backbox and also a few other holes here and there. Would it be worth just fitting a new back box for now so that it stops it blowing?

To run a cat-less exhaust, you will need either a: an upgrade fuel system and programmable ECU to tune properly for the increased boost. Or B: a ported waste gate and high quality boost controller.

The ported wastegate/boost controller is not always 100% though, and if you go over 11PSI with the stock ECU/fuel system, you'll run the risk of blowing your motor. It only takes one bad knock to blow your motor. This is the single biggest reason rotaries have the (false) reputation for being unreliable.

all slincers are like that, my old Apex-i GT spec has the same size silincer, silencers are ment for one thing, quite things down, not for retaining HP.
