If everything else is in good shape I would get the car. Im assuming that the motor is blown. You can get a a reman engine for 1950 + shipping. If you can install yourself that wold be good if not you looking at about 1000-1500. So thats about 12,500 total for a car with a brand spankin new motor. Go for it.

Also you can probably haggle down that price especially since the car isnt running.

As said above, if everything else is good...looks like a fair starting point. Of course try to take it lower...

Completely stock and in good shape the car should put out about 220 rwhp. Thats what mine did at least.

That's a tuff decision. Once decision has been made to replace the motor, you may need work on turbos, clutch assbly, etc...You just don't know, and the money goes very quickly on these cars. If it were immaculate, and no visible defects, I might consider it.

I bought mine with a new motor in it. A few weeks later the front brakes needed new rotors and pads. The radiator went out and the front windshield got cracked. After that I started modding and I have spent about $10k in 1 year of owning the car. Money goes quickly no matter the initial condition of the car.

If you can, talk him down some more. Start off by replacing the motor but while it is out get a new clutch, radiator, and do the reliability mods. This will put you in good shape until you start looking for more power.

Which will be about 10 seconds after you get the car!

I would think it was worth it regardless of color/model, but seeing as it has the black exterior/red leather combo I would ****** it up.. that is a rare combination.
