Hey Opensource, tell us some of the bad stuff that you did in your past so we can determine if we want you on here.

**"Hey, Evo KOA—when I was a kid, I got busted for marijuana. That’s on my record. But that record? It’s insignificant.

The record that actually matters? It’s in the U.S. Patent Office. That’s where my name shines. That’s where my real legacy is.

And you know what? The USPTO doesn’t take mugshots. I wish they did."**

As the other's have said, you could have easily come into this thread and said something like "Hey, I'm trying to build a case against Pettit because of bad business practices. Please reach out to me if you'd like to be a part of it, or if you would be willing to help the cases with your experience." Instead, you've done nothing but make yourself look foolish, and the original issue and POINT of this thread has been lost.

Congratulations. You played yourself.
**"You say I haven’t said anything, yet here you are, responding. That tells me one thing—what I’m saying has weight.

I could have just said, ‘Hey, I’m building a case, reach out if you’ve had issues.’ But let’s be real—people don’t come forward unless they see a pattern. If this were one isolated incident, it wouldn’t be a discussion. But the fact that people are reacting like this? That means there’s something here.

And let’s be clear—you can absolutely get sued for slander if what you’re saying is false. That’s why Pettit won’t take me to court. Because everything I’ve said is true.

If the original point of this thread was to discuss how Pettit does business, then that’s exactly what I’m doing. The problem isn’t that I’m talking—it’s that some people don’t like what they’re hearing.

But go ahead—keep deflecting. I’ll keep bringing the truth."**

Opensource,

Bragging about yourself turns people off. Filling a thread with multiple posts that provide nothing useful is a great way to convince forum moderators to ban you. You need to calm down and quit doing things that paint YOU in a very bad light. Just my opinion.

For how "SMART" you are, you certainly can't READ A ROOM.

Dude, since you reopened this thread, not a single person had defended Pettit or Cam or his kid or whoever.....all people have been doing is criticizing how YOU are going about this. Take a hint.

If you have so much to be proud of - why don’t you show it to give yourself some shred of credibility? Because all we’ve seen thus far is poorly formatted sentences with no substance. Lots of big claims about other people and yourself - with nothing to back it up.

But to start small and stay on topic - why don’t you show us the parts you made for Pettit over the past ten years.

Because without you offering anything more substantial, here’s the extent of your skills that I could find:

THIS is your Magnum Opus? An RX-8 / RX-3 / Ford Mustang (?) Chimera? How’s that looking after a decade of work?

I have never had anybody do so much research on me. I'm actually flattered.

First, it's very easy to find someone's post history on this forum. Second, this would not have been sidetracked with people feeling they need to research you if you had been clear and concise in your original messages. Good luck with whatever it is you're trying to accomplish.

It’s literally two clicks. Thats how much effort it was - which seems to be on par with your skillset.

But the question still remains - what’s the past ten years of product development you accomplished at Pettit Racing look like?

You talk a lot. But have nothing to show for it.

Irony is, original poster sold his FD (at a discount) and is not likely following any of this.

People are still singing praises of Petite from time to time on BAT.

I remember going to cam for a rebuild along with putting on the bnr twins i had a long time ago.. He put on his y pipe(I believe it was or it could of been something else) and bov kit. When I didnt ask for it. I remember him trying to talk me into getting something else possibly the thermostat but I already had a new one and also have the fans come on sooner (had a pfc at the time).. so his game is pretty much to add things on the car saying it helps and trys to upcharge you on the parts and labor you didnt ask for, hopeing he can get you to pay for it and not have them taken off. Communication was non existent and I hate that. I never went back there for work again... seems like a cool guy but kinda shady

Are you expressing your true feelings? Do you research facts? Or are you trolling?

**"You’ve put a lot of effort into researching me, digging up old projects, and trying to change the subject. Which makes me wonder—why are you so invested in defending a company’s business practices, especially in a thread dedicated to exposing their unethical behavior?

What’s the motivation here? Do you just not like what you’re hearing? Do you have something to gain by shutting down this discussion? Or is it just easier to defend deception than to admit the truth?

Because right now, it looks like you’re working harder to protect Pettit than Pettit ever did to protect its own customers."**

I haven’t seen anyone defending Pettit. Even my posts shouldn’t be misconstrued.

If Pettit is installing parts, overcharging, etc - it’s not right. As I’ve mentioned in the past, the original poster had valid issues and people have paid attention.

My issue, and everyone commenting of their own volition is with you. You are making claims without anything to back it up and obviously reopened this thread in the most tasteless way possible (posting mugshots without context).

SwappedNA had a very valid and poor experience. FD3S2005 had a very valid and poor experience. Are either of these “class action lawsuit” - I don’t know. I guess we’ll see.

But my qualm is with YOU. You haven’t shared one personal experience - but know story front to back. You claimed to work with / for (still unclear) Pettit while this has been happening - but can’t provide a lick of proof. You make a lot of grandiose claims - but take any criticism of YOU as a defense of Pettit.

The ONLY relevant post since you appeared is from FD3S2005. I just don’t know how you miss the fact that the biggest stumbling block on your quest is your own two feet.

To clarify, I've never been a customer of Pettit or recommended them or defended them. I think I ask for a few simple points to be clarified by OpenSource RX7, but I don't think that has been delivered. I agree with MattGold, I still don't understand whether OpenSource RX7 was claiming to be a customer of Pettit, or a disgruntled former employee, or a competitor trying to sling mud.

I will say that 'shop ripped me off' threads like this reinforce my preference for doing most things myself, and avoiding project scope creep. I leave my RX7 in other people's care for alignments and tires, and not much else.

I Get It.

**"Matt, I get where you’re coming from. You don’t want this thread derailed by noise, and you want to separate fact from speculation. I respect that.

So let’s cut through the noise. I spent nearly a decade in and around Pettit, and I’m speaking from first-hand experience. You say I haven’t provided proof—but proof is only worth something to those who actually want to see it.

Now, if I provide photographs, CAD models, or other technical documentation, are you going to claim I’m just promoting myself? Are you going to say I’m trying to advertise my work? Because if so, then let’s be honest about what’s happening here.

I have no problem answering direct questions. But if I’m going to be attacked for providing real evidence, do I need special permission to post it?"**

Dude, your unhinged rants do nothing more than undermine any potential point you could be making. Your delivery is the problem.

Crap like this reminds me of Joe Maddox.

Just get over yourself and try to fade back into obscurity. Maybe folks will give you more credibility if you try to post again after another 10 years of obscurity.

I beg to differ. It takes courage to call out wrongdoing. Complaining about me seems to be pretty easy.
