Won't start when the cooling fans are on!!!!
I been having trouble starting my car after a long drive. The other day I was planning to go to a meet but decided to stop for gas on the way. I noticed the cooling fans was on before I shut it off. After filling gas I turned the key to accessory position then the cooling fans turned on. I tried to star the engine but It won't start. It felt like it needed more juice. After a couple try I gave up. I called AAA to pick up my car, but right before they arrived, I gave it another go and the engine started with no issue. I noticed the cooling fans was off when the key turned to accessory position. So, my guess was I didn't have enough amp or power to start the engine when the cooling fans were on.
My question is what are my option to fix the issue? I was looking at a new battery or a 160amp alternator but I'm not sure if the alternator or the battery is the problem here.
Please guide me!!!

Few things -
- Define "wouldn't start" - turn the key to Start, absolutely nothing? Or did you get a click from the starter? Engine kind of turned over but didn't catch?
- Do you have stock battery/stock location?
- Do your fans run sometimes after you shut off the car?

Read up on battery relocation. 9 of the 10 relocations I've dealt with have had all sorts of stupid electrical problems. You can't just run a wire from the positive terminal to the fuse block up front and a ground to a bolt hole in the storage bin.
You may also need to look at the temps your car is running at, don't know if you have a water temp gauge of some kind. You get some good heat there in Nevada but the fans shouldn't run a crazy amount, you may need better fan control and/or a bigger radiator.
Anyhow, I think the root of the problem here will likely be the battery relocation. Fans are on which is dropping voltage and you have more of a voltage drop with that battery relocation, that's not enough to get cranking speed where it should be for the car to start.
