Unhappy Radiator Fans

My car has been sitting at a friends driveway for about a month. The car needed an alternator. I replaced the alternator, and bought a new battery (Optima 51R). I put the batttery inside of the car, and as soon as i connected the postive and negative terminals, the radiator fans turned on. I thought this was weird, so I start up the car. I let it idle for about 15 minutes to reach operating temps.

I shut the car off, and the fans are still on. I disconnect the battery, and the fans turned off. Am I having any problems, or do the fans turn on if the battery has been disconnected for a while and then reconnected?

TIA,
ALI

It seems that somehow the fans are hardwired to the battery. Maybe there was more of a problem than just the alternator. I'm not sure. Maybe check for loose connections or something...thats all i can think of.

Try reseating the ECU connectors. I noticed on my car that when I took the ECU out, the fans came on.
