while this may be partialy true, I personaly feel it is the die hards that keep it alive. the guys that have been racing them before most of these 16year olds were born.

kids see a mazda engine in a starlet (or an rx2,3, ect... ) at the track (or in a movie or magazine) making amazing passes and think that buying one (an rx7) is going to make them do the same on the street. so.... they get the car and expect an online forum such as this to tell them everything they need to know.
sorry, but those guys at the tracks didnt learn here or on any forum.

If you really want to make the search function effective, make each thread into a document you can scroll through. Then when you search, you can just scroll to the highlighted terms. Also - viewing as posts is really no better, because the preview doesn't show you the search terms and you still have to click on each post to read it.

this is what i've always thought... when you search you get hundreds of useless matches... so go into a section and delete every single bad post... every "how much hp does a stock fd have" etc. and then when you search you'll have less... even more drastic would delete all posts that are already answered numerous times and put them into the FAQ... i've seen the dino v. synthetic thread tens of hundreds of times and people still keep on asking it
