why cant i boost over 7.5?

mods listed in sig......stock boost is 10 lbs right?

i turn the boost controller OFF

i still cannot boost over 7.5

both my boost gauge and my boost controller (even though it's off, it still displays how much you boost) read 7.5 max

any ideas/suggestions?

perhpas its because your boost controller is off.

if it snot that, double check your intake system for leaks and/or the tca solonoid and connections there as well as the waste gate solonoid and connections.

How is it that your controller still reads if it's off? What am I missing here..

Check your intake pipes for rips and loose connections. From filters to turbos
Check your IC pipes(in and out). Are the couplers securely fastened?
Check your y-pipe for cracks and/or looseness.

Under what conditions did you first notice the drop in boost?

Umm your boost will go to 7psi which is the wastegate spring if the electronic boost controller is off. Now, if you unplug the electronic boost controller youll have no boost control. To get 10psi turn on the boost controller and adjust it up

The stock spring is a 7 pounder so I'm guessing one of your vac lines has come off and you are no longer controlling boost. It also could be a boost leak like everyone else said. 88gt why in the world would it matter if his intake lines have a leak?

Absolutely nothing I mentioned it just as a process to check everything since you're under there. Thanks for calling me on it though. Helps to avoid confusion

Yeah I would definitely check you boost controller connections. One has probably just slipped off which is a really simple fix. Atleast you know nothing is terribly wrong here because your wastegate is controlling the boost well and you're not spiking.

Try swapping the two electrical connections on the pre-spool and wastegate solenoids. (the ones right under the pressure chamber) They might have gotten switched at some point. Just a suggestion if you had any of that stuff apart lately.

alright, got the boost up to 8 lbs.....so i know how to go on up now

now, before i did this, and after i did this....

in 1st gear, it always boosts.....sometimes when you drop into 2nd, the boost is delayed if it comes on at all, go into 3rd, it's usually fine.....

now sometimes, everything's smooth sailing in perfect

im thinking vac leak, what about you guys?
