Who said RX-7s have no torque

Check out the dyno run I had recently and see if you can figure out what happened.

wrong gear? I'm not familiar with dyno's, but hp and torque are supposed to be equal at 5250 rpm. The calibration's off somehow.

6.33 gears in the back?

Awful low mph - have you done something goofy like put 6.33 ratio gears in the back?

Interesting.....either something is wrong, or the "Diesel" part is because you put a diesel motor in your 7.

Just divide the torque by 2, it looks like someone entered in the wrong plug firing input.

I'm guessing this was a 3rd gear run and the dyno thought the car was turning half the RPM it was really turning. You need to adjust the spark plug firing setup in the dyno software.

Looks like the mobile dyno numbers when I was at Apple Blossom rx7 get together. The guys are right, the guys need to go back and read the manual for his dyno.

The prize goes to spooledup7. Where would you like me to ship the dozen pantyhose??

I showed them the location of the plug wires but forgot to tell them to clip the leading wire instead of the trailing wire. The comment about dividing the torque number by 2 is correct as well.

It was just fun seeing people's jaws drop when they saw the graph that day.

I know what the problem is right now from just looking at what the graph was reading. #1, its a deisel set up and #2 it's a mobile dyno which means its unreliable and very crappy. Those mobile units aren't very reliable in their numbers they produce and are never calibrated correctly.

???? Not sure what is a"deisel set up", Diesel Performance Motorsport is the name of the company that owns the dyno.

As for the accuracy of the dyno, it's nearly identical to my other dyno runs (+-5whp). The numbers it produced on the other cars tested that day was pretty dead on as well.
