Who else owns an EXTREMELY low mileage FD?
#26
Bought my car last summer with 40,500 mils and it now has 41,100 miles. The important thing is that the car sat for 5 years with little driving. The original owner was an elementary school teacher, female. Most of the rubber under the hood and in the suspension was and will be replaced. Rubber does not age well. The water pump was replaced as was a leaking strut.
The FD needs constant attention to run well. I know that the only FD to buy is one thats been taken care of and the owner has been willing to spend the money to keep it right. If not, forget it or offer $8K.

Second, no envy at all. I don't see the difference between driving a car 200 miles a year and having a trailor queen. I bought the car to enjoy it, which means beating the crap outta it. It's supposed to be the return of the pure sportscar, a hardcore road course racer, not an icon in your living room or driveway. At least that's my take on it...to each his own. So plz, get off your high horse...

The silver automatic one? It has an extensive and very nice layout to it, with tons of articles about the third gen. A lot of people admired the time the seller put into the site.

I bought mine in '99 with 34.5k miles... 6 years later it has gained about 21k miles.... about 3.5k of those miles were back and forth to track events, and another 1k track miles...
and about 3 miles broken out into 12 quarter mile increments...
not that low... but I'm enjoying every mile I get out of it...

Back when the car was almost new I figured I'd drive it to work once. Afterall, why not drive it I figured. Well, screw that- sitting in traffic, driving behind trucks spewing rocks back at me, and looking at the car through the office window throughout the day, anticipating getting the hell outta there, I knew this wasn't the right element for a "pure" sports car. It's never been on a track, but when you've got long, winding country roads to yourself most of the time screw driving on the pothole-ridden, strictly speed-enforced streets for the masses.

I know what you mean about it just not being right using it to drive in traffic and what not. I tried that the first year I got the car (w/ about 68K on the clock), put about 8K miles on it that year, then only about 8K miles in the next year and a half, only for pleasure cruises and long drives to shows and events. So yea I'm totally w/ you...leave her at home for the daily stuff, but when you do take her out, make it worthwhile

1993 VR R1 with 23K.....savoring each mile. Think I've put about 1,000 on it in about 3 years.
Wouldn't mind having another "non-garage queen".....but it's an endangered species so I'll treat the R1 accordingly and make the 626 the work-horse.

Mine has almost 200k miles.
Oh, wait...you said low mileage.
Bought it with 90k 5 years ago, about 100k by me in that time.
Daily driven and loving it. Turbos lasted that whole time with one rebuild

BTW, your silver car w/ the V-Mount, BBS', etc. is VERY nice.
