Wheeler dealers Mazda Rx7

LMAO last night watching these Brits kill a 3rd gen.
The show was looking good until they started talking about graphics. To each his own but the car was just missing some APC parts and it was ready for a car show in the 90's.

Not to mention the Nigerian buyback?

dude its TV. its scripted. they have to know where to put the cameras and the lights. the whole sequence where mike looks at the car, and then comes back from the test drive is probably a whole day of shooting.

the test drive is another day of shooting.

etc

Big question I've had from the show is what V-mount did they use? That was actually a pretty nice kit!

Funny thing is they found the ONE FD that didn't need ANYTHING fixed. I figured the FD episode would have them tracing down a sequential problem, maybe suspension, broken interior plastics, etc.

Poor car, sweet v mount though. I have thought about doing that water stuff to the interior plastics though, looks like it would hold up better than black paint.

I just watched it and agree that they ruined it with their aesthetics mods. But it's scripted and no car dealer with half a brain would modify a car in a way to narrow down their target market, especially for a car like RX7 where the market is already narrow.

500 pounds for tacky paintjob and 400 pounds for vinyls/decals would have been better spent if they repainted the wheels silver and bought a better spoiler/wing or a front bumper.

Does it really take that long to map a PFC? I think Lurch said it was a few hours. I'm getting mine mapped at Garage Life for the first time and Daniel said it would take about half an hour. I think in reality, they might have approached the owner and said if you let us use your car on the show, we'll give you the upgrades for free. Heck, I'd do it. I'll take the vmount kit and the PFC, then rip out the snakeskin off the paint and repaint the wheels.

I thought the body kit was hideous to begin with. Then they put those stupid graphics on. It almost made me physically ill. What I question is that car had a few visible mods. It had an intake, exhaust, and a pfc (from what I could see) and he was only pulling 215whp? That just didn't seem right. Seemed more legit after they had it tuned at 295HP.
