Im not sure if you have stock gearing Im just comparing to my car so disregard if you don't
nice *** burnout
sounded like you kept it in 1st a little too long but nothing too bad
did you miss 2nd to 3d? if you didnt that was a slow shift
3-4 sounded good

I'd say you have about 375rwhp on this run
not sure what is going on with your car and the confusing traps etc.

124 trap is ~420rwhp

I have FORD MOTORSPORTS 4.30 gears. I stayed in 1st gear until 8600 rpm, same with 3rd gear. Fucked up 4th gear too...

I looked and my rev limiter was set at 8600 rpm so I lowered it to 8050 today. Hopefully this will keep me from over rev'ing and losing all my power. I've already ran 11.50 @ 124 mph on nittos but, I bounced off the limiter on that run too but not as badly. I should be around 126 traps if I can shift correctly.

your car just seems really inconsistent? like you have different hp every run etc so do et streets take off 10mph trap over nitto 555s?? For example I trap ~122 and if I got a 1.73 60 time I'd get 11.45. My 1/8 mph was almost 97

what exactly is the problem with you over reving lol? Sometimes in a street race I will do that becacause I'm nervous and don't have time to concentrate but in the 1/4 mile I dont go above 7500rpms after 1st ends.

My over revving? Nervous I guess. Each time I over rev, that's where I lose power and momentum. Each time I lose power and momentum between gears, the next gear falls on its face and my car has to have time to spool back up.

Get me?

yeah I get what you mean
I think overcoming that problem should be real easy just shift at 7500 haha its easy. just watch the rpms and at around 6000 start thinking about how youll shift at 7500. Getting a 1.7 60 time is hard shifting at whatever rpm you want to shouldnt be

I do agree about the momentum being lost because you're out of your power range at 8300 rpms but that has nothing to do with spooling up the turbo right? because you're at higher rpms creating more exhaust gases than you would be at lower rpms so you're def keeping the turbo spooled. I think the only way the turbo has to spool up again is if you shift slowly or miss a gear same difference

Easier said than done . Launching is weird in my car. I'm reving it to around 7g when I dump the clutch and hammer the throttle, so next time I look at the tach it reads 9G! Damnit! I guess by the time I dump the clutch I'll need to shift into 2nd gear!

I would think that the turbo would be spooled and ready to go at 8600 rpm but it's not. My car nose dives when I shift at that rpm.

judging by the video you need to slip the clutch a little bit when coming out of the hole. it'll keep all the power from trying to plant at first and give the car time to plant the *** end. it also appears that you were one-wheel-peelin for a little bit. that'll also decrease 60ft times

I don't think these guys pulling 1.5 short times are slipping the clutch. Are they?

My old peg leg has been giving me problems

I don't think they are completely dropping it
that takes no skill! and also the initial impact of the clutch on the flywheel is going to slow the engine more I believe than timing the release of the clutch and slamming of the throttle the rest of the way would. Does that make sense? That's what I did and got a 1.8 the first time I really tried to launch hard on nittos...and it would have been better I believe but I ran out of gas and the car cut off and came back to life quickly during the launch. I also only revved to 5500. It felt like heaven to take off like that though and I got absolutely 0 wheel hop. Before with wimp launches I was getting hop until 65mph with the stock suspension

EDIT and you cant use that excuse about your leg cause I had knee surgery about 4 years ago. My new clutch is like a form of rehab hahaha

Well, there you go. Someone that's cutting 1.5 or lower short times needs to chime in on how they drop their clutch on take off.

Anyone?

well i cut a 1.6 slipping the clutch. i've never been able to get under a 1.9 by just dropping it. that's usually only recommended for slicks as they'll absord some of the load

Im using ET streets at the strip. 15psi tire press, 7k launch, 6puck unsprung just dump it at 7k, T04R turbo. IF I launch right when the engine/clutch catches its a little above 5k and boost is already 1 bar.

1.61 my best 60ft most of the time im in the mid 1.6's only been to a 1/8th mile but in the offseason there lengthing it to a 1/4 woot woot

oh yeah my trannys bout shot too huh wonder why 130k and those launches with unsprung disc doh

oh yeah my coilovers are adjustible, I usually have the front on all the way soft and the rear 1-2 clicks over half way

I pulled a 1.75 my first time out on the ET streets. Stock turbos @ 10psi. I had 20psi in the tires, I think with more practice I could get down in to the 1.6's maybe. Looking for 11s on stock turbos, stock motor, and stock boost

I was able to cut my 1.557 by bouncing tha car off the rev limiter (8100 rpm) and the dropping the clutch. I'm able to build about 5 lbs at the line that way.

Does anyone else have a problem with their ET Streets walking all over the place down the track? Scares the crap out of me!

I ran 3 times last fri night 1st and 2nd passes I had 1.55x 60ft times and the 3rd run the stock axle broke.
My car got out of the groove walking around on the ET's kinda feels like the rear of the car is floating in some water sloshing back in forth.
