What's the difference?

I mean why pay $100 for this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

When you can pay like $20.00 including shipping for this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

I mean I am usually not cheap but damn, it is just a piece of metal right? I mean Greddy is expensive because it is mad tight yo correct?

It's mainly the build quality/brand/appearance that determines the price. They both serve the same purpose, so why not go with the cheaper one unless you have the money and prefer brand name.

Some of the more expensive ones are built with better quality control, fit better, etc.

But, from what I've heard, the Ebay braces are of decent fit and quality.

Some of us like to support the brand name companies. If we didn't support the companies that do the R&D on products, cheap people wouldn't have knock off companies to buy stuff from.

Got an ebay brace, it works great

My server wont open ebay to look at the links, so forgive me if we arent talking about strut braces...
I had a $35 (shipped) ebay strut brace on the car. got hit in the front left anough to pop airbags, bend hood and some frame. Fortunately everything strut brace back is ok. The bodyshop was suprised as heck and attributes this, at least partially, to the strut brace. Car is now fixed and running with same said strut brace. It may not be expensive but it sure works.

I'm sure that extra $80 will be spent on three short trips to the pump, but gasoline is better appreciated in a car that performs like the RX-7.

I heard the driving gear ebay strut bar is the one that fits good. Others may have some fitment issues.

Only about 2600 of nearly 14,000 FD's brought to the US had one eqiupped stock.

dexmex88: You should really consider subject titles that are more clear than "Whats the difference?" and "Just wondering?". It helps you get a proper response faster and makes search results better for anyone asking the same thing.

Haha, yeah I know, but I figure it will make people wonder what the thread is about so they click on it anyway to see it if I keep them guessing!

~$500 new, but you can find them for $150-200 used in the For Sale section.

The cheapo Ebay strut brace is for looks mostly. It doesn't provide much in the way of structural support.

But fortunately the RX7's suspension set up makes a strut brace of little practical use anyway. Even on the R1 model it's mostly for show. Sure it might help a LITTLE BIT but the types of cars that a strut brace really helps are cars with McPherson Struts where the top of the strut tower is a load bearing structure.

It is important for a strut brace to be as straight, strong and well mounted as possible to provide the most bracing.
