what would u do with 1500?

my rx7 is totally stock. i dont want to rice it out with gay *** body kits and cheat rims. i quess u could say i like the sleeper look. anyways.......i just sold my first gen and are ahead of my car payments. i dont know wat i want to do....(but i know if i do it i wanna do it right). i think i want to re-do my whole suspension with some struts, shocks, and sway bars. but that is all my money.... so if u were in my situation, what would u do with 1500 extra dollars to put in a stock fd?

do as many of the reliability mods as you can...if not all of them.

search for "reliability mods" and you will find plenty of info.

I would spend $1000 on wine and women and the rest foolishly.
I think I'd go for a nice intercooler.

i would put it in reliablility mods, suspension might be a nice thing as well, and/ or the bank. I'm a fan of the stock look myself

Other than an AST or Radiator everything else has a down side. Any changes to exhaust make the car louder, I loved my quite FD... Intake mods are also add noise. All seem to trade low end power for top end. Gas mileage will also suffer if only for the fact that trips to 8k will be that much more fun. I've done a lot to my car for the quest for speed but I can hardly get on the gas without drawing attention from law enforcement from the next state and I run a cat and racing beat cat back. My car is pretty quick but I can't have as much fun as when it was stock. Based on what you stated keep it stock.

1. Boost Guage and ast
2. If #1 shows you are in good condition with your sequential system, then proceed to number 3
3. Downpipe
4. Save the rest for when something serious breaks.

Bet it on black! Maybe you'll have 3,000 dollars and you can come back and ask what to do with 3k.

Disagree. If it hasn't been removed already, remove the pre-cat for a good downpipe and consider having it heat-coated. It's not only a reliability mod, but also a significant performance mod for obvious reasons. Better mileage too. I really don't think it makes it any louder, but you could also wrap it to make it quieter. Other than emissions at cold start-up, I can't think of a downside.

Another vote for reliability mods, including changing out all fluids.

Replace the spherical bushings that are probably all shot any way. Then fix anything else that is broken. Get your car 100% before you modify it.

Boost Gauge
Downpipe
AST

Save the rest you will one day be spending a lot of $$$ on a rebuild so save while you can.

YAS I agree. =P =P

I have a stock fd too, and about that much money, and I'm going to fix every little thing before i do any work. I just ordered my shop manual, I'm going to fix the damn oil pressure sender, and I'm going to get a downpipe, aluminum AST, boost gauge, get some new spark plugs and wires, and new volume **** for my bose sound system, and get my driver side window to roll up a bit quicker (it's all screwed). Other than that, I'd just save it or put some money into my daily driver. I love my RX7 just the way it is!

Give me the 1500 dollars and you can see what parts I buy, then when you save 1500 again, you can do the same for yourself

only 37k? your suspension is probably still in really good shape. i'd go with AST, Radiator, Downpipe, and save the rest for a rebuild/re-doing the sequential system.

i was thinkin of saving up for some new twins.......but in order to do it right (like with dual ball bearing turbos) it would be very expensive. downpipes a good idea though.
