FD sat for about 10 yrs. Got it home, new gas, oil etc. started fine. Few weeks later it starts and immediately dies.
Changed fuel filter, fuel pump. Checked, getting fuel now.
Have it started and after about 3 minutes it slowly bounces between 1k and 1.5k rpms. No steady idle, just pulsing....
any ideas,,,
when I give it gas, it hesitates and almost shuts down, put it in gear, give it gas it cuts out.
just want to drive it already
Vaccum maybe?

I'm guessing that the residue left in the gas tank has now plugged the new fuel filter (unless you just changed that after this issue started) to the point it won't allow any throttle above idle. Or maybe the filter at the bottom of the tank is now mostly plugged.
Bouncing idle could be a vacuum leak, bad grounds, and/or inherent PFC idle issues
There's a ton on the forum on this problem
that was my first thought, vaccum leak. But it all seems to be in order. No loose or chewed lines. I really don't want to change the filter again, such a PITA.
any "easy way" to determine if it's actually vaccum? Or filter?

I get the idle could be vaccum related, but would that cause the engine to cut out under throttle as well? It sort of struggles to rev then gives up and just dies.
The cutting out on throttle maybe either too much fuel (flip side not enough air) or not enough fuel (too much air). A clogged filter would be the later. Have you checked your fuel pressure on throttle?
Then get some line that you can route in the car and a fuel pressure tester (which you may be able to borrow/rent from a local auto parts store) and see what fuel pressure you have when it starts bogging down. My guess is it's low. If it's not low it's a problem after the fuel filter (injectors?)
The club changed my name for some reason. Anyways, FIXED THE PEOBLEM!!.
It was the stupid rubber coupling around the fuel pump hardline. It was slightly warped and wouldn't hold suction.
Did the cut and add fuel line hack. Running like a dream again.
