what is a normal idle?
I'm just wondering, when most of you start your car (cold), what rpms does it shoot to (with AWS disabled); how long does it remain at there? And how long does it take to settle down to below 1000 rpms?
I'm just wondering because i haven't found a definitive answer and I want a good idle before i travel from ny to detroit this weekend.
Oh ya, this is on a stock ported engine with a pettit ecu, so i'm not really interested in how it idles with a PFC or with a ported engine.

All this is fairly loosy goosey because it depends on the setup of the car. Do you have a (street) ported or stock engine. this makes a difference if it is stock I am possitive there are many topics on what the stock cold start and operating rpm's are. If it is stock I'm with SpeedKing.
That's weird. My car *1st gear* starts at 2k then drops to 1100 until the cars water temp reached the very middle then my cars idle kinda searches for itself between 750-900. I think there's something wrong with my car. hehe.

I have a problem with my car when idle. The engine does not run smoothly and sought of almost stalls but then recoveres and there is a lot of movement being displayed on the boost gauge even though the car is in idle and it dosnt sound right. Is this a problem with the spark plugs ie need changing or is this bad news.
