What mods will eliminate this?

1.When I drive my car I have to let it sit for a few mins to let the fans run so it can cool off.

2. When I'm driving I have to keep the ac button pushed in and the dail set to Heat And have it set on atleast 1 or all my coolant will leak out.

I hate driving with heat on what mods do I need to not have to do this any more?

Thanks,
Jay

Obviously, something ain't right.

Get your coolant flushed. Sounds like you may be running 100% coolant. Do you have a leak? Is the car completely stock? Is your ductwork in the front in good shape?

I'd have to agree.. flush your coolant and run 40% coolant to 60% water.. If that doesn't work then I'd start looking for other problems.

If you want to cool your engine without running your a/c try the fan mod. use the following link.

http://rx7.voodoobox.net/howto/fanswitch/fanswitch.html

its really easy to do (probably the easiest mod I have ever done to my FD other that changing my shift ****.)

Nah, I think he's referring to the engine temperature.

If the temps are not too high, but the coolant is transferring into the expansion tank, check/replace the AST cap. If it still does it you may have an o-ring problem.

Does your car smoke (white smoke) when you first fire it up? Does the coolant spill out during or at the end of a drive? Like the others said, flush the radiator system, have the caps tested or replace them anyway, and check the AST (known to break). But if your car smokes at startup you probably have an O-ring gone bad and that is bad news, time to get a new engine! The shop manual suggests three water / coolant configurations depending on the weather you drive in.

Oh, yeah, you're probably right. I misunderstood.

Fan mod should work fine then.
