Question What happened to the FD3S polyurethane bushing thread?

What happened to the FD3S polyurethane bushing thread?

Did it get locked and deleted?
Was there any more validation of a kit that will be produced?
Was he simply gauging interest?

Any update from someone that was following the thread?
Thanks

The thread was removed because it was an 'ad' in the technical section. I know that seems a little crazy, but I believe that if I don't enforce that rule strictly then we'll have all kinds of commercial stuff cluttering up this place.

As you know the name of the product, you can contact rotary shops and ask for it by name. I don't see the PowerFlex bushings listed in the group buy section. If anyone gets a group buy going, myself or Rynberg will be happy to add it to the group buy sticky thread.

I see the point about this being an "ad" but I would like to see some tolerance if not abused. I and others were interested in more information on this product and it wasn't eating up huge bandwith or done in an annoying kind of way. I don't like it when whole threads disappear that I spent my time posting to and spend more time searching for them when they dissapear. Also, how is this any different than this "ad" thread...

Agreed, it didn’t seem like a aggressive spam, like those that have “slid” in this section, though I totally can appreciate the fact that this rule does exist and thank the mods for extermination of a inappropriate posts.

It seemed more like a notice of a product rather than an aggressive advertisement in a incorrect section (from the last I saw of it), and in context it seemed appropriate for this section IMO. IIRC there was no mention of taking orders or asking of moneys to be transferred, just a notice that these are in development and posts by interested partys.

dgeesaman and I debated over closing it, although I did not delete it. It is a very gray area on what to allow without letting the section get overrun by free advertising. The forum needs vendors to pay for advertising to grow and sustain.

Threads like the one in question make for a very difficult decision. I do not know who closed or deleted it. I personally thought letting it go for a while and then closing it if it got more "commercial" was the best approach, but it's a tough call either way. I would not have deleted it.

What about this one?

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...0&page=1&pp=15

It deliberately turned into a for sale thread in the 3rd gen technical section. Shouldn't it have been moved or deleted (while it was active) as well?

I haven't seen a new thread pop up anywhere yet. Was the thread starter notified of why the thread was deleted, and how to become a vendor or start a group buy? I just don't want him to get pissed off and run away, I was really interested in those bushings.

Also, does anyone remember his screenname here? I'd like to contact him and at least get a thread started in the group buy interest section to get some questions answered about the bushings.

Guys, anyone selling products on this forum needs to get permission from the Admins to do so. There are vendors who pay for advertising on this forum and they tend to get a little unhappy when people get "free" advertising if it happens to be somethign they also offer. That said, without permission from the Admins, the threads can be subject to be deleted.
