9.20.2006 Recall???

Hey everyone,
I was carfaxing a few potential winter cars and decided to carfax my FD.
Just wanted to know if anyone else was aware of this, but...

Car reports:
Manufacturer recall/service bulletin issued
Recall #SSP39 ENGINE CONTROL UNIT

issued 9/20/2006 from Mazda Motor of America, Inc

Not sure if it pertains to us, but...
Thanks
Edwin

Well I guess you can call Mazda. Their website doesn't list it, and NHTSA only covers up to 9/12/06.

If you figure out about it, please post which vehicles it applies to.

Of course, Mazda waits until now when are only a few dozen cars still running the stock ECU

My friend tried to buy an RX-8 last week but the guys at Mazda wouldn't let him because they said that the RX-8 recently had a recall. Maybe thats the one.

Possibly, I would have imagines they would have listed the ecu numbers ie. N3a2 or something like that if it was indeed an fd.
