What goes with upgraded IC?

My mods are in my sig and i plan on adding dp,intake,hi flow cat and ECU. Would i need to upgrade to a SMIC or a FMIC before any other mods are done?

What if i only had cb, and intake. Would a m2 medium SMIC IC be beneficial at all? Would i feel the differnce with that setup? and would i need an aftermarket ecu after that? Thanks!

The upgraded IC isn't really necessary until you go beyond 11PSI-12PSI, 12 is kinda pushing it though.

Compared to othe aftermarket ICs I'm not sure how the M2 SMIC compares, but I'm sure its better then the stock one.

The IC does add a fair bit of power. I would say that it does as much as a cat-back, intake, etc. I was kind of surprised when I installed mine how much of a difference it made. I had a downpipe, intake, and cat-back when I added mine and it detonated at 11-12 psi. This was at 2 or 3 AM and I went to MADS the next day and picked up my computer at the event. I don't recommend running an IC/intake/cat-back with the stock ECU, unless you get one that doesn't flow well.

If you get an IC with low pressure drop (M2 Medium, GReddy stock mount, others...) you will need a computer. The stock ECU can account for the changes in temperature, but it won't be able to account for the reduced restriction you have acheived by running a bigger, better-flowing intercooler.

I would guess that a FMIC has greater pressure drop becasue the core is larger then a SMIC, but I could be wrong.
