With $7k (USD that is), a 20B is out of the picture.

wouldnt you think that 3 rotors is better than 2...Also search the forums for 3 rotor conversions...its well documented. I dont think people are going to tell you what to do step by step by step..after step.

20B is obviously going to offer more power. However, its not a drop-in replacement (which is why the costs are much greater). It also requires much more than just the engine (i.e. the stock RX7 ECU isn't going to control a 20B).

Basically, if you don't know much about these cars, stick with the 13B.

Brouli,

1) Make sure you read the entire 3rd gen FAQ/Sticky (https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/). I PROMISE you if you don't, most (if not all) of those $7K will end up going to REPAIRING your FD, instead of modifying it. The FD is a VERY expensive toy to play with, and newbie mistakes are *incredibly* expensive to fix. So read up.

2) PRIOR to modifying the car, you need to be aware of the FD's unique handling characteristics. Read this post please: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...59&postcount=2

3) Now that you've realized you can't just mash the pedal, or you'll wreck (or even worse, seriously hurt yourself), here's a good guide to modding your FD: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...81&postcount=2

Welcome, and hopefully you'll read up and search prior to posting (because this forum is VERY rough to newbies who post w/o searching), and will learn before making costly mistakes

~Ramy

PS: You need $30K+ EASY for a 20B install...

Please read the FAQ thread and the 20B sub-forum (under Rotary Performance forum). You are not going to do a 20B conversion for anywhere near $7k. Not even close.

You can't legally import JDM FDs, regardless of the year, so don't bother

a 26B is a little crazy for someone that is new to rotary's
just stick with a 13Btt and swap the tt for a bigger single turbo unless you get a series 8 13Btt.... there got better turbo's than 6+7...

Just to answer your questions:

1. 20b produce more power than 13b. So making more power is "better" to you there u go. As for reliability both are rotary.

2. $7K to invest in a 20b conversion isn't gonna cut it...try $40K.

My advice...13b reman.
