Lol, im so stupid. I thought that "AQP" was the socketless hose and not the braided. Its a material or "inner tube"

I wouldn't wrap the entire hose in the fire protection, but hot area's in the bay...it couldn't hurt.

The silver stuff near the bottom. However, I didn't end up using it.

I am using a 90 but I hate it. It put's the line in the way of the spark plug wires and makes changing the plugs difficult. I had plans to either do a 120 and then run the line along the block or a 45 and run along the frame but then i'd have to 45 back to the thermastat.
I finally have the Crooked Willow (bought used) dual oil cooler kit installed.
After reassembling the front of the car I realized that the connectors on the bottom of the coolers actually extend down below the fender line a bit.
This can be seen near the bottom of this page:

The 2 small undertrays on each end of the bumper actually must be cut to get them reinstalled.
This would be an issue with any aftermarket oil cooler with fittings like the Mocal, and mounted in the stock position. The only way to fix this would be to flip them over and replumb the lines.
At this point I have to stop spending $$ on this car (new hoses and connectors) for awhile, and put it back together and get some break-in miles on the motor.
Should I be concerned about this?

That is one of the reasons I did not go with the Crooked Willow kit....although I can't recall hearing of any "incidents" involving THAT part of that kit. I have, however, heard of several stories of that dumb hard t-stat connection failing, which is the main reason I did not go with it.

That hard line connector is now part of my pressure testing kit.
It was replaced with a flexible line.
Anyone know where else (other than racerpartswholesale) I can get the Mocal Thermostat and coolers ? there giving me a hard time 'cause I'm not in the US.
I am going with a pair of t' stats , one for each cooler like the stock twin cooler set up ! that way if one ever fails to omen I will still have one cooler on line !

Just a little preview of our Dual oil cooler kit that FDNewbie will be selling
Prototype is almost done. All fittings, lines and brackets will be included as well as a thermostat. We're going to a stock looking kit, with the option of silver cores and braided lines.

Hi , just some info , I came across some -10 AN 90 Degree Low Profile Re-useable Swivel Hose End fittings on ebay, I think they will be ideal for use if you plan to mount the oil cooler with the fittings/hoses at the bottom.

Is it close to your design? Ours uses 25 row cores. We're trying to keep the cost down and push on fittings are the easiest way, plus I think they look cleaner

I gotta go back with a leaner a/f mixture.

I was wondering about your air pump...glad it's working! Send me a picture of the mount and location. Sucks about the test, I've been pointing to your A:F and ports.

haha, I don't think I've seen those pics before. There is only a few ways to mount oil coolers though. We experimented with three brackets, but found it held just the same with two.

My car came equipped w/ a bogus dual oil cooler set-up. I am now transferring to dual OEM coolers. I am going to use from the old set-up the ss braided lines. There was not a thermostat in the old set up at all. It flowed freely from the front cover to the pass. cooler to the driver's cooler to the pedestal. Can I run the lines the same way eventhough there is a thermostat in the driver's side oem or will I have to reroute or tee the lines? The FSM does not show the flow route for R1 application. I got my oil system button up:
