waist gate??

you mean waste gate.
[edit] and it dumps exhaust gas so your turbos dont over boost or spin to like 300000000 RMPS and explode.

an external waistgate bolts onto an exhaust manifold for a turbo car. When the turbo reaches a certain boost (whatever you have it set for on your boost controller) it will release exhaust gas out of it to keep the exhaust from flowing through the turbo and prevent the turbo from over spinning. it lets the turbo spin at a constant rate to maintain constant boost.

Your car already is equipped with a waste gate control. If you are looking to mod your car into a single turbo set-up, for example, then you may want to look into an aftermarket external waste gate. I would suggest, however, that you ride with your car for a while and learn what it is all about before getting into more extensive alterations.

Hm. How to answer?

A stock FD has an internal wastegate......the most you can do is have it "ported" so that you (hopefully) will not get boost creep with open exhaust.

An FD with an aftermarket single turbo kit will have an external wastegate, which is normally part of the kit.

Also, it is not optional......your turbo needs it so that excess exhaust energy can be routed out the exhaust piping once the desired boost level has been reached.

waste gate:
A valve used to limit the boost developed in a turbocharger. A waste gate operates by allowing some of the engine's exhaust flow to bypass the turbocharger's turbine section under certain conditions.

Thats the simplest explination. Of what a waste gate is and does.
