VA what do you think about this clutch setup

I am purchasing one of Crispy's street ported motors. Since I'm yanking it all out, I figured I'd replace the clutch. So I am in the market for a new/slightly used clutch.

A forum member offered to sell me an ACT XT PP and stage 2 clutch [1k mile].

I was wondering if anyone would know how this setup would feel with a street ported motor/lightened FW and stock twins? I am planning on running everything pretty much stock until I can pass emissions and get the funds for a new turbo kit. I do plan on using the FD for mainly Friday+weekend driving, so I will be anticipating some rush hour traffic.

Also wondering if anyone knew the difference between the different release bearings that ACT sells on their site. It's like a $140 difference

Personally, I prefer the HD pressure plate for a car used on the street at power levels the stock twins provide. I got tired of the Extreme PP on my prior setup installed by PO and now use the HD. I drive my car on the street a lot often in traffic. The extra pedal effort of the XT was annoying after a while and the power output of my car (~325 rwhp) does not warrant the extra pressure the XT provides.

exedy hypersingle
ORC 409D singleplate

they are all better than any setup with any ACT clutch i have ever driven in any car. any.

also done w/ ACT. love the hypersingle on my s13, will probably purchase the same clutch for the FD.

ps- don't think i'd ever buy a used clutch, i don't care how few miles are on it.

Yes I've been warned about purchasing a used clutch.

One is a release bearing the other is a pilot bearing. The picture for the PB is incorrect.

Is it recommended to purchase both new ones or can I get away with using the stock item? I'm going through the FSM to see the install of the clutch, so I want to make sure everything is correct. Never done clutch work

Both bearings and the seal come with the new ACT clutch kits, just another reason not to buy a used clutch. Doing it while the engine is out just means you are bolting the clutch to the flywheel while it is on the engine stand.

^ The clutch, preassure plate, bearing & fork assembly is all very easy to work with. Once you see how it goes together, it's not intimidating at all.

Does your exedy single chatter much?

Also how would a stage 2/3 performance clutch react with stock twins?
