Audi tech

Certified Audi technician at dealership, ASE master technician, 24 years old, owned my FD for 3 months, own my own house, 3 cars, blah blah, get discounts on parts, have the right connections, worked since I was 15, bought my $7500 tool box and est $15,000 in tools by myself, although still owe snappy some, haha. Love working on cars, helping people, and having fun. High end German cars are overengineered, high tech, and pay good to have them fixed. I just dont like it when customers think they know more than the techs working on their cars and demand a procedure be done their way, when it will damage the car, or not even address the concern . Anyway, like on the Audi Forums, they think they know what they are talking about, but in reality they know nothing but enough to be dangerous, they hear and read something and take it to be fact, when in fact, its "The blind leading the blind"

PFC US Marines. Used my savings from my job before the corps to buy the car (had it before I came in), now since I live basically for free, I have a little money to play with. Not much though, still have to save for anything over ... $300.

I work at the Cheesecake Factory as an expo. That basically means that I have to make sure the kitchen does its job correctly and the food looks perfect before you get to eat it. I also have to get it out in a timely manner. Its a good job but doesnt pay that much at all and it should pay more than I do get.

Oooh, expo. I used to work in the food industry as well (for about 2 years as a cook). It was very stressful every time I worked, trying to get every order made correctly and on time. Pay was crap, but I kept coming back for the adrenaline rush.

Self employed, started my own business 4 months ago but I still have to pay for tuition. (I just turned 19). Owner of a fast growing marketing firm in the restaurant and fashion community. The key is to take advantage of what little you have, and run with it. Faith and confidence also comes in handy.

I'm a POWER PLANT OPERATOR for 7 years. Right out of high school I went to a 2yr trade school and acquired my boiler and turbine operator license from LA county. I lived with my parents until I was 21 and bought my first house. 2 years ago I took out a home equity loan and bought my '93 Montigo Blue Touring. About 9 months ago I blew the motor and 2months ago I sold my house and made a killing. I Now own my second home, a mortgage on this one too of course I'm not a millionare, and I'm talking with Mariah's in Santa Barbara about dropping $10K just into the motor too get my babe back on the road.

i'm not bashing anyone. But there are so many answers that are the same. I'm 18,19+ just started my own business in the amazing world of so and so. I'm 19 so i can't possibly think of myself owning my own business at this point. I can barely manage my check book ( don't even have one) or get myself out of bed in the morning to go to community college. haha i lead such a tragic lifestyle.

i never really read this forum but anyways...
im 17 about to turn 18 and worked at a theme park (Carowinds) and im about to buy my first car, red 1990 gtu, all paid for with my own money and gas. my parents are paying insurance though. im about to get another job working at a grociery store as a stocker where i should make a good amount of money. ill feel a lot better when i go and buy the car with my own money rather than someone buying it for me.

In this guy's defense,
I'm a full time college student and I work anywhere from 20-60 hours a week during the school year and I can't even come close to affording an FD :-(
It would take me 2 years of saving every penny I earn to even buy one, let alone deal with insurance and upgrades....

I opened a tanning salon. you have to start your own ****. I cashed in all my chips to start a cookie cutter cash cow. never knock anyone's hustle. mechanics on the side, skills to do special services, bartending. I was a bartender for 8.5 years. good way to make expendable cash, even living in LA. I got my FD as a bonus for opening and maintaining a successful business. I am also 30. time. be patient. work hard and keep your priorities straight. you can eventually afford what you want and will enjoy it more. I could not have imagined owning this car at 18, which I was the year it came out. I remember my friends dad getting a brand new FD in 93. was like a ******* spaceship. nothing like it. I wouldn't have had a clue what to do with it then. I know a lot more now and am glad I can enjoy it to the fullest.

Publisher of TRAVEL+LEISURE GOLF magazine. Formerly the Associate Publisher of Automobile Magazine (with the legendary David E. Davis, Jr.) for 8 years, and worked for Road & Track for 8 years before that. The golf biz is fun, but it's automotive that makes me crazy!
