I have the blitz dd bov and it wont be nearly that loud, for some reason it seems loud in videos but is quiet in reality, but i prefer that though. If you want that loud woosh sound then go with the turbo xs rfl. Or for a cheap and effective solution, just vent the stock bov.

Either way your car wont sound like that f40

BOV sound is also related to boost pressure. The higher the boost the louder the BOV will be.

you have a stock bov, how else would the car be able to vent the pressure off, i personally have 2 turbo xs bov's and there loud it also helps that im running a open wastegate.

Yes you do have a "bov", its known as your ABV. You can vent that, and plug the hole where originally that hose went to.

You will then hear some "noise".

personally, i liked the sound of the stock unite vented to the atmosphere, i think it sounded great. though i have to say, it sounded best around 2 - 3k rpm, higher than that, even at mid throttle it sounded kinda weak, not entirely sure why tho.

vent the stock BOV to the atmosphere and you will get the sound that you want

ALOT of car guys prefer HKS bov's.

I have an HKS ssqv.

It sounds like this, its even on an FD to get a perfect example.

the hks unit is probably the BEST made bov on the market, that or tial, no issues with quality. I used to have one, but just got too annoying on long trips. The bov is connect to the black rubber hose thats comes out of the center of the y-pipe. The stock bov itself has a brown top.

So you discovered your CRV, did you check to see if you see another piece that looks EXACTLY like that?

If not, then you are right, you dont have a "bov" present which i can assume is bad. There is a hose that you will see that runs to your CRV. Now find ANOTHER hose that looks exactly like that, thats where the "bov" or ABV is supposed to be and tell us what is or is NOT connected.

I think now its time to get a bov of your choice.

now i need bov and need to find out how to install it as i have never seen how the stock one needs to be connected...

Get a bov first.

The rest is easy.

The port off the y-pipe, you need a rubber hose to go from THAT to the bov.

Now off your UIM (upper intake manifold) where i asked you why the 2 nipples are capped. You take one nipple and run a vaccum hose from one nipple to the nipple of the bov.

Voila. The other nipple is usually tied into for a boost gauge.

But do this step by step. Dont go crazy and take your time. Any help you need and we're always here.

ok but can i buy a 2nd hand one? i found these ones:

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_t...w=bov+rx7+fd3s

i mean i dont know how it works and if it brakes(if its possible ) or is it just one of them things i cant go wrong with? if its ok to get a 2nd hand one i will go for one of them (id like to know how they would sound first but hey...its only 69 quid) im gettin' an FMIC this month so i wont be able to spend 250 for a brand new one...

btw:

i have seen BOV's welded to the IC pipes or intake elbow, what is the difference in mounting it this/the other way?

The HKS also has interchangeable inserts you can purchase for different effects. The standard insert (silver 3 fin) causes the whistle, the gold 3 fin causes a slightly higher pitched whistle, and the purple open insert causes a woosh

Yeah I noticed this too and thought it looked cool but didn't know if it had any benefits or anything.

And Mazdatim thanks for the info, I didn't know that they had that.

Take the rubber tube off the airbox that runs to the ABV(BOV) and plug the hole on the airbox with a grommet. Now your BOV will vent to atmosphere, therefore... PSHHHH
