hmm... which hose going into the airbox is the BOV hose? I haven't been able find my BOV cuz I've still got the stock airbox and it's so cramped in there

Follow the hose and it will lead to a BROWN bell plastic looking thing labeled "ABV". That means air bypass valve, which is your "bov". The hose on the other side of it goes to the y-pipe.

The hose that goes from the (ABV or BOV) to the airbox, cap off the port on the airbox and eliminate that hose.

Your bov is now vented into the atmosphere and you will hear the WSSSHHH sound now.

yea pretty much, its just vents the air pressure back into the airbox instead of into atmosphere.

Blitz is actually pretty loud. I think the old Horn style Blitzs would sound the most like the Ferrari. I was running 18 psi when I had mine though,

well wouldn't higher boost mean a louder sound as there is more pressurized air that's trying to escape?

The stock BOV does just fine for higher boost. Many guys have used it up to 17 PSI (about what the older BNR's were topping out at) without any issues. However, changing/installing a BOV is an easy thing to do. It's a good way to get people started working on cars who have never needed to in the past.

excellent choice. The Ferrari sounds like it has the Greddy Type-R. Also a great Valve. 50mm Tial's are also very popular these days.

HKS SSQ sound like ***....the old purple ceramic one sounded great, as did the original Super Blow Off Valve (circa '89)

yea true it could work up to 17 PSI, but i wouldn't trust it. I bet it dosent let enough boost pressure out.

That wouldn't be much different than the guys who don't run a BOV.

So you're saying that 17psi is about the upper limit of what the stock Denso BOV can handle?? That sucks, I def didn't want to replace mine (don't fix what ain't broke!) while I still had twins..

I'm currently running 1.1 bar and am thinking of going a little bit higher when my A/I is in... Will DEF be pushing over 20psi (fuel dependent) once I get my v-mount in this fall.

As for putting in an aftermarket BOV... adding an extra one to the elbow will not interfere with the stock one, or vice versa, will it?
