No, I'm saying 10 PSI is NOT it's limit.

Fair play. They'd be kinda useless if their max limit was 10psi...

Any pointers on when/how to tell if the BOV is being overpowered?? I'd rather avoid putting an aftermarket unit in my car if possible, though I'm not about to blow my system (put WAY too much work and money into it) because of compressor surge. Especially if a couple hundred bucks is the easy fix.

Just not trying to go overboard in advertising what all is under my hood (though the full 3 inch exhaust and N1 Duals makes that attempt mildly redundant). Ya know?

Once I started running 14psi mine would randomly leak. You could hear it begin to vent under boost at times. Not always but often. So I upgraded my bov and my I/C together so I could integrate it into the hard pipes.

I disagree with the comment of the HKS SSQV sounding terrible. Especially for those who like just the "woosh" if you throw in the purple insert it has a very aggressive "woosh" that is very crisp, better than turboXS and others that sound quite hollow. But that's my opinion

By "hard pipes" I mean metal, and with that I was able to weld on a flange for the bov and place it where I desired (cold side), rather than having to integrate it into the stock location.

The stock rubber intercooler piping can crack over time, causing boost leaks. The metal "hard piping" eliminates this possibility, plus it's also another shiny bit under your hood.

If you get hard pipes to use with the stock intercooler, or SMIC, be sure that they are designed specifically for the Intercooler you are using... otherwise there is a good possibility that they will not fit correctly and you'll end up having to modify them yourself (which can be very frustrating).

yea once you let off the gas in WOT and you get compressor surge, that should be the definitive tell tail sign that your BOV is past its max capacity.

Thanks for that brilliant input... lol

And the specifics for how you can tell if you've got compressor surge?

You listen. It's that fun shuddering noise you get when you let off the gas with no functioning BOV. . .

I love my RFL. 13psi it's loud as hell and doesn't leak for me anyway. Makes my ear hurt when I ride in the passenger seat.

Why would you want something so loud that's it's physically painful?
