What is a blown Pettit ported 13B-rew worth?

The pettit engine was origionally my motor that I had them build up...street port, hardened stationary gears, 3mm apex seals, everything short of pinning the block. I believe the engine ran too hot. It got near 245 degrees once at the track. I shut it off and let it cool, drove it home at 200 degrees. The radatior was 80% clogged from calcium buildup. Never again will I put city water in my cars. It ran fine 4 weeks after that, no more over heating. Then as i was driving home it started to run rough....you know, that one rotor not 2 kinda rough. I was driving normal, just crusing at 40 mph when it did that. I can still spin the engine over easily, and the Apex seals don't look damaged. What would be a good asking price? Thanks in advance.

Well lets see.....$50, and i'll pay shipping. To be honest, i've heard of some places paying over $500 for a core engine. But you have the hardend stationary gears...so...i don't realy know. CJ

What the hell, I'll go $51.37 and shipping.

Sorry but it's just what you can talk somebody into paying. They could come out with a deal or a cracked rotor and spend way too much.

Later, Jeff

$300 seems to be the going rate for blown FD/Turbo II engines. $500 or so seems about right...

I'm about 90% sure that all FD motors have hardened stationary gears. The TII motors don't IIRC.

$500+ for a blown motor is typical. Overheating could toast the housings but the rotors themselves are expensive new...
