well i hit a racoon...

******* animals... ran in front of the car, i swerved and caught his head a little to the right of center on the bumper. fucked my ac condenser back into my radiator, bumper's fucked, undertray pulled down. headlights won't go down b/c plastic side piece is caught on the fender. i was able to drive it home but its not moving except to go to the shop now... i don't want the rad to spring a leak and end up toasting the motor too. $500 deductable on the comprehensive, but at least now i'll have a bumper that's fitted on properly...

god damn it this sucks.

i hope i killed the ******.

i'll take pics tomorrow.

I hit one once years ago in my old white FD.

It tore out the DS fender liner. I killed the bugger dead. The rest of the car was fine.

Sorry that you didn't get so lucky.

dubulup -- yeah i agree with you there. so the positive side of this, is that i get a new bumper, thats fitted properly and not already fucked up! and maybe even '99 spec...

does anyone know if i'm going to have a hard time getting the insurance company to replace the rad with the exact same one (koyo)?

Yeah, racoons are cool animals.

A human that could put a bumper like this on an FD, I'm not so sure about though.

I agree completely!

Also maybe this kind of thing would be prevented by running a Damian Type undertray.....

you shouldnt have a hard time at all getting the parts you want. its best if you dont deal with the insurance directly(IMO). find a reputable shop and speak with them as mush as possible.

a while back i was driving home from palm springs in my new truck (toyota tundra) and a semi was in front of me. he swerved off the road a little bit and hit a large over hanging tree branch. did nothing to the truck but it came down and nailed my front bumper, pushed my fender back into my door so it rubbed. the branch went under my truck and sent me in the air. anyways my front left shock was blown and the a arm was bent as well.

i told the shop that the shocks have to replaced in pairs as well as the a arms. i told the rep i was dealing with at the body shop i dont want stock parts. he said that it was fine, customers do it all the time. he billed the insurance for the stock parts and cut me a check for them, and then he added the labor to the bill seperately.

so i got my truck fixed, lifted with coilovers, a arms, new wheels and tires, deaver leaf springs and stainless steel brake lines. and it ended up costing me 100 bucks. lol
