I just couldn't do that trip and watch someone else drive the car. However, I did let mt brother drive the Time Attack. In the practice, he was one of the the fastest in the RWD but I was concerned about the heat (95fand reliability since I had already broken. I asked him to make sure we finished the event.
Most of the other cars had "semi" professional drivers. Emissions and noise really killed my points. That was 15 points I left on the table.
Emissions and noise? WTF they want fresh off the factory cars only? In that case why even race AWD cars with RWD and FWD..

^ The point is to find the perfect balance between streetability, performance, reliability, power, and overal livability. It's really hard to do all those things while having a quiet and non poluting exhaust system.

Check your pms Bobby. Yes, that's the plan. The car should be back together by next month so I'll have some time to get everything dialed in before the event. Of course I've said this before and it hasn't worked out

They used to do a "tuner" only event where any car could enter but they thought they'd change it up to a street car challenge, hence the emissions and noise categories. It's supposed to be a true test of a street car. You know how well we rotary guys do with those restrictions

With my rebuild, I've got a high flow cat that is being installed on a reworked exhaust system specifically for this event. I melted my last cat after 200 miles so hopefully it will go better this time.

I agree and Modified thinks that is part of the challenge. All the other cars had the same restrictions but rotaries do get punished in those categories.
