WOW! I am just blown away by the support. The editor of Modified is a big fan of FD's and he talked with us a long time today. I told him of the support from the Rotary community and he thought that was really cool. He said he was putting the support from the Rotary community in the article.
I made 635 and 482 TQ. Yesterday was a record high of 95F and today was 93F. I don't think any other rear wheel drive car made more. An EVO made 742 and another 700+whp AWD car was yet to dyno. My car was at 100 dB and the limit was 95 so that cost me 5 points. If you pass emissions, you get 5 bonus points. I think the limit was 18 ppm HC and I was over 600ppm. LOL!!!! I guess the cat didn't make that much difference...
We are on the big road course tomorrow. It has a 1/2 mile front stretch. Probably 150mph..... The tires are really slick though. It could be tricky. Look for some updates tomorrow.

Thanks again for the support. That is the most amazing part of the whole deal.

Good job Bobby! Is the drag event last? You could get some drag solution for those tires to make them hook! Might check the rules first.

600 HC is still pretty damn impressive for a catted rotary power car making that much power(cats are a huge restriction so balancing flow for emissions isn't easy).

wish i could show some support but i'm about broke until i get some of these cars done, best of luck in the next events.

Hey David Hayes! I really want to make it down to dgrr it's a 20 hour drive... So we have been prepping for it... Making some last minute modification to the car... Custom wheels, custom recaro RZ seats, dual fuel bosh 044 pumps, 2200cc secondary injectors, AN fittings with harline and soft(nylon) lines... Etc, etc i don't think I will have time to put all the parts in (including BBK that I just ordered) but I left that weekend open so I can make the drive down with Alex and hopefully other forum members.

I realy look forward to see all you guys! It's been a while!

I hope everything goes well with Bobby! Show them what our community is capable of producing!!
It would be great to see you guys. DGRR is great fun so make it happen

This is just a great thing and I am very happy for you. Can't believe it's that hot but welcome to AZ. It's a dry heat right?

Regarding your cat, what are you using? I'm going to get back to putting one (or two) on the car. Am going to do what RotorMotor suggested, run two in parallel.

As for the tires, are you saying they're not that great? Or that they are street tires versus racing tires?

Hey guys... well, I took a break from work Friday to head over and check out the Dyno and say Hi to Bobby and his brother Tim. Great guys who are doing an incredible job representing for us!! This early season heat spike is a total fluke. A week ago it was in the 60s with rain and by the middle of next week it's forecast for the upper 70s and low 80s. Last year's event hit the same hot weather. Hopefully next year our luck will improve Heading out this morning (Sat) to chat with Bobby/Tim and watch them compete for a few hours and support the cause. From what he told me, they're packing up and hitting the road this evening post event to be back to work by Tuesday. Truly epic dedication and commitment to representing! If you haven't already done so, please donate if you can!! Every little bit helps! I'll post up some pics this afternoon!

This is just plain awesome! Good luck and i cant wait to grab my issue.

It sucks that theyre limiting the participants to crappy tires. Kinda defeats the purpose imo.

Good luck! Hope you do us proud!

Oh and sidenote... You are crazy to pull that with a 4runner lol

Lowered and a set of wheels is all it takes to make an Fd look better than any non-Supercar at an event. I should have donated him some 99 spec tailights. Bobby, good luck and safe travels and make sure to swap out those tail lights when you get back.

They are heading to one of our club members house with a lift. It's about 40 minutes from the track. Time attack finals are at 4 pm (7 pm eastern). They should have it up on the lift by now. Definitely broke the tranny. They looked competitive on the track speedwise. There was an Evo that was stupid fast, but most others were pretty close speedwise. Temps are close to 90F again today, so he can't run "hot laps" the entire time. His brother Tim was driving the session when they broke the tranny.

Pics from this morning and loading the broken beast to head out for repairs....

I'm sure it wasn't Tim's house where the car was taken too, it was Masin's. His house is about that far and he has a lift

Also a forum member and former vendor.

Bobby has made it to DGRR many times and definitely a great representation of the rotary community. I hope all went well and hope to hear great news from the event.
See you at DGRR Bobby, Rich, David, and others.

They are on their way back now but wanted to let everyone know how much they appreciate the support of the community, from the well wishes, to the cash and goods, to the awesome help they got out in AZ from forum members. They represented the community well but couldn't have done it without the support of everyone.

Modified has asked that the results not be made public so you'll have to wait on those. Bobby did say that he wishes he had a professional driver.
