Water pump housing and oil meter lines??????

So why the hell did they run the oil metering lines over the water pump housing part? Well i gotta get that housing off, so how hard is it to unhook those lines? If it difficult, how hard would it be to cut the lower half of the housing off so i can get it off, then just put my new housing over the oil metering lines. I need some input as to how to go about this.

You want to hack your wp housing in half? seriously?

Just disconnect the omp lines at the pump itself. Two 10mm head banjo bolts, and you'll need replacement copper crush washers from Ray at Malloy Mazda. You'll also have to unhook the lines from the pair of brackets.

Pay attention to the way it's all installed so that everything will be 100% correct once you install the new wp housing, take a few digital pics if that'll help you.

Just be careful with the lines, they're pretty fragile.

just unscrew all the bolts, use the double nut trick to take the long studs off, then you can just manuever the housing off...

so your saying i can take the studs out of the engine so i can just manuever the housing out without removing the oil lines right? I had thought about that, didnt think of the double nut trick though. If you guys think thatl get it thats what ill do. If i go that router, think i need to worry about breaking the bolts?

It's not a quick or easy affair if you've never done it before.

Is there a rotary specialty shop in the area? why exactly are you swapping wp housings again?

2/3 bolts for the thermostat broke off inside the housing. Drilled the centers out and used easy outs, which then broke off inside. If youve ever tried to drill an easy out out youll see why i was just gonna swap the housings. That was before i realized it was going to be a total pain in the *** though. im gonna try the 2 nut method tomorrow, seems like that'll be an easy way to do it.
