water/coolant level sensor thread pitch

For whatever reason, I am having a hard time finding this information. Does anyone know the thread pitch for the water level sensor on the filler neck?

Don't know exactly but alot of Japanese oem fittings are metric pipe thread, otherwise known as JIS, PT, or BSPT thread.

I know that much. Im trying to buy a bung for the sensor so I can get it installed in my new water neck. I want to make sure I get the right one. The selection at Lowe's for metric hardware is tiny and I dont want to start opening a bunch of bags to see which of them fits. The check board they have wont work just because of the way its designed so Im kind of stuck.

Pretty certain it's straight thread. The socket head plug elsewhere on the pump housing, on the other hand, tapered from memory.

I'd wager it's 12x1.5. If you have the pump handy and, you can swap the water temp sender from the back into the hole, you have confirmation.

confirmed m12x1.25

the next issue is finding an aluminum bung in that pitch. i had to buy a m12x1.5 bung and a 1.25 tap. im just going to re-thread it. i looked all over the internet land and could not find an aluminum bung in that pitch

Speedflow here sell socket head plugs in the appropriate pitch. Would have thought between Earls, Goodridge, chinese fittings etc, there would most likely be something too?

Metric to AN male, plus flare cap suppose is another approach....or a welded plug.
