Sweet! Thx dude

BTW if your taking the tubs off it might be a good idea to match port the Manifold to the Turbo Exhaust Housing

I might, what kind of gains did you see by doing that?

By the way, I probably wont do the dual EGT's right now, I dont really want to get that advanced with the car, but I will for sure do it when I know what future my 7 will have and I know what direction I want to take it.

As for now, just exhaust, wastegate porting, and possibly port matching.

Gains arent the importance of the porting...Its flow that makes the difference. As you can see the stock one is tiny in comparison to the ported one. Therefore is a huge restriction. Porting will reduce turbo heat, turbo wear, reduce lag and increase flow.

I was actually talking to another forum member about the upgraded wastegate, and he said that it is possible to mod the twins for an external wastegate.

I have a couple of extra sets of twins to chop up and test fit, to see if it is worth all the trouble.

Any creative imput?

I have bnr stage 3's on the way and I'd like to have my WG dump to atmo.

Your BNR's will already have the WG ported

I've no idea how you could run an external on twins and dont think its possible due to plumbing and exhaust manifold/turbo design...It might be, but I just cant see how...maybe an rx7club guru could step in...

Time will tell, I want the tuneability of the synapse wastegate.

+ wastegates dumping to atmo sounds pretty bad ***.

I just got off the phone with Bryan (sp?) and he said there was little advantage, besides the cool factor.

I still want to give it a try, at least to try something different.

Maybe the results will be positive.

that would be sick if you could get an aftermarket wastegate working on them

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Just got off the phone with Bryan, he doesnt offer an external WG, he also said its a waste of time...

So much of what we do to our cars is a waste of time, why not a wastegate that dumps to atmo on bnr's...

fabrication is fun anyways.

From what he explained its not an easy task...Also theres a higher risk of turbo failure and cracking, due to the fact you have to weld the Manifold.

Personally I wouldnt waste time on something thats not going to be of any benefit. Kudos to you for trying! Document the process!
